Hyper has finally returned with his first single of 2005 called Come With Me. What's the wonderboy of Breakbeat have in store for us this time?
Hyper – Come With Me (4:20 Recordings)
Timo Maas’s label is at it again with the first 2005 single from the mighty man simply known as Hyper. DJ Hyper had an extraordinary 2004, with the release of his 2CD mix on Thrive called “Wired”, which gained him many, many fans, then his remix of Sarah Mclachlan’s Stupid on Nettswerk, plus his tour with Crystal Method and that was only in the first four months of 2004. Adam Freeland once commented that Hyper would be huge and he was certainly not lying because Hyper is one of the new stars of the breakbeat world and some say he has taken over Adam Freeland’s reign as King of Breakbeat, as well as his crown. So Timo Maas gives you more of what you need with one of the most anticipated vinyl releases for 2005.
Hyper – Come With Me (4:20)
A1. Come With Me B1. Come With Me (Daniel Taylor Mix)
A1 – Come With Me (Original Mix)
This starts very slowly and for those who completely loved “Outsider”, you will be in for a shock. “Come with Me” certainly does not fit the typical Hyper mold of a track. The female vocal that is filtered comes in, the track seems to ooze that monsterous status. When the track finally gets going, it starts pushing an evil bassline coupled with a nasty riff, which is topped off by some mean sound effects, when you combine this together, you get a filthy breakbeat monster. The track might be a little slower but whatever pace it lacks, it makes up in quality and quantity. It continues like this for a little while but after that happens, the main part of the track starts to get going. The riff gains an even nastier edge, when a grinding edge is thrown in and it just devastates the place. The vocal comes in and out at times but this is just filthy breaks and that’s the way it should be. “Come with Me” is not as in your face as say his remix of Stupid or Outsider but it works so incredibly well and it has dancefloor destroyer written all over it. I think it also shows that Hyper is not afraid to experiment with different things.
B1 – Come With Me (Daniel Taylor Mix)
Side B brings the little known Daniel Taylor on the remix duties. This remix is a little faster but uses a heavier bassline, this adds to the filth and boy it is ever filthy. Taylor throws in weirder sound effects and he does not use such a grinding riff. The vocal is even filtered even more, so you cannot even make out anything. The bassline is what drives this mix, not like the riff work in the original. You can see what Hyper and Taylor are aiming for here, total destruction. The breakdown is more lush than the original but it still relies on the heavy bassline to drive it. Certainly a good a mix here
Conclusion:
Hyper is at it again, move over Adam Freeland, Hyper should be considered the king of breaks at this present time. Hyper delivers a nasty slice of filthy breakbeat that should rock a ton of dancefloors, the world over. Daniel Taylor’s mix is for people who like to rattle the bassbins. Certainly it is going to be a monster track in the coming months, watch for it, you have been warned!
