Yet another remake of the classic Robert Miles - Children. This may be the one to check out, since 4 Clubbers Remake was released just over a month ago...
Robert Miles - Children could be one of the tracks with the most remakes out of any trance track. With numerous samples and full remakes, including the latest 4 Clubbers Remake, and now, Grooveaholics have pushed out a new remake for 2002.
The vinyl contains 2 tracks:
A1. Children 2002 B1. It's Showtime
Taking Children 2002 first, we can make direct comparisons to the 4 Clubbers Remake, which was more trancier and had less of those 'stabs'. For me, I preferred the 4 Clubbers Remake, simply because the Club Mix and the Junkfood Junkies vs Futurebreeze Remixes were outstanding. The Grooveaholics Mix does not build like any of the previous versions does, and is more of a dancier track as opposed to trancier but still has a good melodic structure. Nonetheless, the production is good, and theres a nice surprise which entails 2/3s into the track where a little breakbeat trance and discontinuous beats. A nice bit of production for about 1 minute then back to the original beats.
On the B-Side, "Its' Showtime" is very typically a German Dance track, with stabbing beats a 2 distinct breaks and random female vocals. This would fit those DJ Taucher, Blank & Jones, Tandu and perhaps Talla sets. The track doesn't have many distinct features to it, except that if you hear it once, you won't forget it, and you get that "EuroDance feel to it".
The vinyl is released as a limited edition vinyl on SunnySide Up Records.
And remixes of the track may be coming sometime soon. (Yet again) =p
