A brand new trancer emerges on this German trancelabel, this time produced by André Visior and Carsten Stoll, who are known for several other aliases as well... Including a remix from Serenade, let's see what damage this track can do!
A.C. is of course just an abbreviation for the first letters of the producers' first names. André has been in the scene for quite a while now, releasing tracks like 'Speed Up' and 'Don't Go'. Carsten is also known as Tectonic Shift, with which he has brought out his single 'Silver Dusk' (featuring André Visior) recently on the AxWax label. His previous single 'Break Of Dawn' was played by loads of big-name trance jocks, and 'Estatica' has already been caned by Paul van Dyk... let's see what it's like!
A-side: Original Mix The thing that immediately grabbed my attention during the first minute of the build of this track is that everything sounds very, very 'clean'. This is not meant negatively, because all the elements just blend together very nicely. Not being 'overproduced' like you hear in a lot of tracks these days, the overall atmosphere is very neat: the fierce kickdrum is being backed by some nify percussion elements, and the bubbling bassline just does what it needs to do. This really can't be compared with other modern-day tracks: the overall feel leans more towards the sound from a few years ago, which is definitely a cool thing. While the build introduces one repeating high synth sound, we get introduced to an uplifting set of string sounds during the break. Playing an on-going and not too complicated melody, these are being powered up to the maximum by bringing in the main riff. Still retaining the drive from the build, this melody unfolds to a truly nice experience. Going up and down all the time, it creates a very elevating feel during the climax, which will certainly be able to create devastation on a dancefloor! Rating: 7,5 / 10
B-side: Serenade Remix If you have heard Ligaya's 4th release, you know who Serenade is. His tracks 'Aura' and 'Illusion' were two nice trancers, with the first being a bit better than the latter. Also known as Angel Ace, this 22-year old producer from Spain usually works together with Oscar L., creating tracks like 'Echoes Of Light', 'Smiley' and 'Now & Forever'. While the original already featured a rather banging bassdrum, this one easily tops it. Already sounding more like 'the 2005 sound', the build brings us a continuously repeating effect at the background and a gradually building, but very deep bassline. It is definitely noticeable that this is a Serenade remix because of that typical use of percussion and synths which we also heard in his two previous tracks. Injecting several synths and a powerful portion of warm string sounds, the build-up sounds rather full, but still energetic. The break incorporates the same introductory melody as the original, but this time in a more powerful way by using some very cool filter-like effects. The main melody is slowly being put together behind this, being backed by a cool broken beat part right before the climax. While not too much tension is being created, this remix still knows how to catch your full attention by the literally huge bassline and the fact that not the riff from the original, but the strings are being used during the climatic parts. A nice remix of an equally nice track! Rating: 7,5 / 10
Conclusion:
We have ourselves a fine trance release here! The original is cool because of the clean, yet inventive vibe throughout the body of it, while the Serenade remix takes on another approach by bringing a full and energetic interpretation. All in all nice hands-in-the-air material!
