REDEMPTION REMIXES!!!

With the Summer season coming up and a plethora of new, undiscovered talent lurking in the depths of the UK, we have commissioned some of our new artists to remix the Redemption Back Catalogue classics. So far we have Joey Riot + John McCash remixing three massive classics, "Nightmare Walking" by Toxen, "Moonwalker" by Dee Mark and future classic "Divinity" by JS Ten. That's not all as both Scandinavian lad Cloudchaser and JS Ten are remixing Colin McNeil's epic "Cloudscience". The Public Domain remix of Nightmare Walking, which originally came out in 2002 is coming out again on the flip for all those who missed this roaring hard trancer the first time around.

REDEMPTION MAIN LABEL RELAUNCH

After a rest of over 18 months we are relaunching our Redemption label again with not one but two trancey slices of mayhem! First up is Joey Riot and John McCash's 'On A Dream / Cross Format' which will be Redemption 36. Both have a very familiar sample but rock the harder trance floors and following up from that is JS Ten's Divinity which will be Redemption 37. There is more information below but rest assured these will rock the place!

DIVINITY DESTROYING FLOORS ACCROSS THE UK!

JS Ten's latest trancer of the uplifting kind, Divinity, has been tearing up dancefloors all over the UK on the limited copies available. The first lucky person to get a copy was Galaxy FM's Paul Kershaw who played the track on his prime time Saturday night show in March! This was followed by Mark Eteson (Guy Ornadel's Protege) who followed on from Tiesto at Godskitchen in April and said the following 'I played Divinity after Tiesto at Godskitchen in April and it was my tune of the night! Went right off and so many people asked me what it was called.'. The third lucky recipient to get a copy was Knowwhere's Anthony Dean who stated that 'It rocks' and 'It lifted the roof at Knowwhere'. Following on from this 36 copies have been sent out by our friends at Inspired! Massive DJ Support is expected as this has literally taken the roof off of every venue it has been played at!!! Get Stuck In!

DAVE PEARCE MAD ON BANGING BANGING

Radio 1's legendary Dave Pearce has been raving about the Bang Banging bootleg that we at Redemption have been distributing. Here is what he had to say about what we consider to be one of the most forward thinking trance tracks around at the moment:

'Big tunes in my box this weekend included Bang Banging (a tranced up version and in my opinion a better interpretation of the Audio Bullies 'Bang Bang') and Ernesto vs Bastian's Dark Side of the Moon'

LEE HASLAM FEELING INSPIRED

Tidy Trax label Manager Lee Haslam has certainly been feeling the material coming from the Inspired camp of late. He has licensed "Twisted Twister" by Samuelzone (Inspired New Talent 4) and "Overload" by Van Faber + D-Suza to his latest mix album for Ministry of sound which is coming out in the summer. Excellent news all around we feel!

PRESS REVIEWS

YANAVE - "Amethyst’/’Obsidian" [DEEP BLUE] (DJ Magazine)

Another double top for the West Midlands based DeepBlue label and a pair of contrasting trancers fresh off Yanave’s desk. ‘Amethyst’ gets things started in fiery, energetic form, and rarely touches the brake for the next eight minutes. Snaking minor effects creep around the heels of the pumping backing track as the distorted synths and sparkling, chiming top line all storm the stage. By minute three the power chords start to rise, but are checked from a premature peak by modulating, melodic elements. The end of the break packs a powerful enough right hook to see this firmly into the high end bracket. ‘Obsidian’ offers a more melodic, altogether deeper trance vision. Using lighter keys, but a mood filled main synth, Yanave crafts a wandering, epic number. Not quite as instant as ‘Amethyst’, it none the less very playable. 5/5 Tim Stark

BARBED WIRE + SUNGLIDER - Ruffed Up [Strukture] (IDJ Magazine)

Ooh, now this is what I call proper, driving trance. Big, bold and using a huge off-beat stab, this is as euphoric as it is driving and has all the credentials that will enable it to be played by DJs accross the board, such is its appeal. On paper this is a lot softer than some of the other tracks featured on this page, but some tunes are just too damned classy to be limited to one genre and this is one of them. Bloody Ace Stuff! 4/5 Tom Harding

SCOTT BOND + SOLARSTONE - 'RedLineHighway’ (Remixes) [MADE IN ENGLAND] (DJ Magazine)

Belated perhaps, but the remixes of last year’s epic ‘RedLineHighway’ arrive at last. The original version was a tough, relatively uncompromising affairin traditional trance terms. A stoic, journeyman of a number perfectly encapsulated by its title. Russia’s Bobina are up first to the remix plate. Over 7 plus minutes they take a great detour from the original’s theme and plough back in a raft of emotive chords and pads. Sourcing the perfect, uplifting synth with which to paraphrase the riff, Dmitry and Sergey take ‘RedLineHighway’ up to the euphoric reaches with simply their best remix to date. Yanave (seen elsewhere on the page on M.I.E. sister label DeepBlue) takes control for the B side. Only a fraction more in keeping with the original, he opts for a decidedly melodramatic breakdown, slowing up the riff with fine results and backing it with some spacey Astura-esqe effects. A strong mix overall but Bobina’s version just takes the chequered flag! 4/5 Tim Stark

BARBED WIRE + SUNGLIDER - Ruffed Up [Strukture] (IDJ Magazine)

Strukture is a new label set up by the people behind Inspired Records, who in a short time have released some excellent tracks. My expectations were pretty high, then, and they've not disappointed. There are two excellent tracks here: the Original and a remix by Gate 42. Both are very good and unusual-sounding. 3/5 Danny Slade

We are holding back on Reactions at the moment as we have just completed a massive mail out of over 12 titles to the UK and Europe's finest DJs on our Tastemaker mailing list.

If you wish to apply for a place on this list please email your details to info@redemption.co.uk for the attention of Louk.

All the best
