I'm really pleased to announce that I will be doing a couple of live video & audio streaming events from this USA tour so if you wanna join in the experience then just log onto http://www.mattdarey.com/ for more info. I will also be performing an exclusive set for LA's biggest dance FM and internet dance station Element Radio to celebrate the album launch party & this new residency at Hollywood's Avalon night club http://www.elementradio.com/. This will be the first of many visits to Tinsel Town since my last visit when I played for Gods Kitchen on NYE.

The second album is to be released in Australia & NZ with Christopher Lawrence where I will be be club hopping from Brisbane to Sydney and Perth to New Zealand. My Sydney launch party will be recorded and ready for upload to http://www.dpdj.co.uk/ for those who wanna sample a bit of my live performances onto there ipods. I will be making a quick stop in the UK to play these residencies at London at Knowwhere and Trance Generation as well as other UK dates with Gatecrasher, Passion and the Gallery. I will also be stopping over in Ibiza to play a couple of sets after returning from this tour in August & September. Log onto my website http://www.mattdarey.com/ to find out more about whats going on in my world.

London & Audiojelly
The wave of technology is no stranger to dance music and continues to evolve, embrace and reshape the whole industry as a whole as time progresses. But this last month saw the birth of a completely new concept which promises to transform the already fast growing sales of digital dance music and clubbing as never seen before on a global scale.

In what is described as the first event of its kind, London based and cutting edge promoters Trance Generation, who you'll remember recently celebrated their first birthday last month, joins forces with on-line leading music retailers AudioJelly.com for the first in a series of exclusive "DIGITAL SESSIONS" events which will have true dance music enthusiasts and trainspotters in a complete spin.

The Digital Sessions will be broadcast live across the world to over 80 countries on Friday 13th May when Myself, John OO Flemming, Ben Lost and Darren Tate will be joined by millions of listeners. The idea behind it was simple, not only will people get to see and hear never before heard material live from their PC, but they also will able to purchase it at the click of a button. The implications of this event are huge and clearly groundbreaking changing the way that dance music will be sold in the years to come.

AudioJelly is the legal music download store created by Ricky Simmonds, Steve Jones and Tony Rapacioli - best known in dance music for their several projects that include Lustral, Praha, The Space Brothers, Kansai, Chakra, Force Majeure, Ascension, Lamai, Oxygen and Quadraphonic. Since going live with the site last July, Audio Jelly has become Europe's leading dance music store for downloads with their reputation recently being sealed when they were nominated for the award for Best Dance Music Retailer at this year's
Winter Music Conference IDMA.

Now we all know that in the past there have been many live audio sets on several sites on the web available, but this is the first of its kind to combine a visual and audio experience direct from the club with the pioneering ability to purchase the music being heard all at once. This means that music fans logging on across the world were also be able to see all the action as cameras will capture every moment live from the night at The Soundshaft in London.

Guest DJs involved are myself, underground hero John 00 Fleming, and producer extraordinaire Darren Tate. John has just completed sell out tours of Asia and Australia, and production collaborations with psy trance giant Astrix, and US trance No. 1 Christopher Laurence. Darren is one of the UK's most successful trance producers ever. His latest track, an epic dance anthem entitled 'Winter' and released under his DT8 Project guise went top 40 in the UK and both DT8 Project and Darren Tate albums are due out this summer. Also there on the night were TG's own resident DJ's Gary Ramsden and Ehren Stowers. Each of our 90 minute sets will be given a minute by minute track-listing option, enabling anyone the facility to buy any track heard at any given moment during the webcast. It also brought together some of the leading UK dance music labels such as Darey Products (yes I know it is mine, but believe me its right up there with the best of them!) JOOF, Lost Language and Mondo Records. This will provide never before heard material from some of the worlds favorite and cutting edge DJs around today and yet another good reason for people to log on and listen. For more information about the event and to listen again check out http://www.audiojelly.com/ and become part of the revolution.

UK Relevant News
On the UK club scene, Trance and the tuff stuff joined forces recently in the shape of 'From Russia With Love', a collaboration between Midlands clubbing institution Godskitchen and Northern hard dance outfit Goodgreef. Manchester's MEN Arena played host to three stages, the main stadium area devoted to trance and techy, electro sounds, and two smaller hard house stages. Set of the night came from Adam Sheridan, newly crowned Mixmag Future Hero at the 2004 Trance Awards. Driving and uplifting, his set had the crowd roaring at such anthems as Nu NRG's 'Dreamland 2005', Reflekt's 'Need to Be Loved', and 'Find' from Ridgewalkers. Quality sets also from Above & Beyond, with a cool, laidback sound to get the crowd in the mood, and a techy, almost progressive set from Paul van Dyk. Event organization left something to be desired, however, with a two hour queue for the single cloakroom, and further long queues for the Goodgreef room.

Good news for southern UK trance fans ironically, it traditionally being a Midlands / Northern sound, there is now more trance in London than anywhere else. Knowwhere, Trance Generation and the techy, electro sounds of Serious are already well established. Ultra Utopia appears to have bitten the dust which I¹m not at all sad about as their policy seemed to be to advertise DJ's on their line up that hadn't even been booked. It was quite annoying to see an advert in Mix Mag with myself on the line up of a night I'd never even heard of! On a positive note, by the time you read this two new trance nights will have kicked off, Vaccine at Turnmills and Ascension at The Factory (ex Club Supreme). Vaccine promises to showcase the best in new talent from Holland and the UK, and the launch party features none other than duo Corderoy. The man behind Ascension is Adam White, recently awarded Best New Producer, and Best Track for 'Whiteroom' along with producer and man of the moment Andy Moor at the 2004 Trance Awards. Don't worry kids, you can sleep at work. For more info, news and updates from the world of trance check out my website http://www.mattdarey.com/.

Reviews
You can hear all these tunes in the mix for free @ http://www.dpdj.co.uk/

Headstrong Feat. Tiff Lacey - Close Your Eyes (Various) DP
Yet again the magical voice of Tiff Lacey hits the airwaves with a song from a relatively unknown producer better known for his trance website http://www.headstrong-hq.com/. In fact this is the second tune to catch my ears from Don Jackson aka Headstrong after his debut release Euphoria Sunset. Already winning the approval of DJ's like Judge Jules and Dave Pearce, this one is definitely set straight for the A list airwaves. As the melodies and strings drift over solid beats, surprisingly for such a mellow sounding tune every spin so far has been a winner. Some great remixes of this track are on the way. If you loved Reflekt - NeedTto Feel Love or Max Graham - Gone, you'll go nuts over this one.

Andy Moor Vs. Soronous - Untitled (DPDJ Bootleg) CDR
Man of the moment Andy Moor has had an incredible roll of success this last year with Li Kwan - Point Zero, Ridge Walkers - Find, White Room - Some Day, Tilt - What the World doesn't know. This guy is cleaning up for sure. Andy's latest release Halycon meet's the Clannad sounding vocal from Soronous. Not likely to get a full release but exclusively for my new mix album. Also listen out for this one in my sets or at http://www.dpdj.co.uk/.

Locust - Aero Space (Probspot) Motion
Probspot does the business again in a slightly more pumping reincarnation of his proggy trance sound. Very catchy and keeps the floor moving nicely in an early set. Classy production as usual.

Sam Sharp - Error (Original) Spinnin'
The now legendary tech trance master creates yet another outstanding hard trance workout to add to the collection. Previously Sam aka Sandler has brought us monsters like The Theme, Twister, E-Craig's Beat goes On. Driving crisp beats and a massive techy hook with loads of 'ere we go' factor.

Purple Haze - Adrenalin (Original) Spinnin'
Spinning records have been on a roll for the last year and a half bringing forth some of the best in techy trance. Adrenalin's hypnotic beat and off beat moody style synth line is an absolute monster at 4am when the going is getting tough.

Tektonik - Shine (DBA) Platipus
I first latched onto the Tektonik guys after hearing their remix of Art Of Trance's Mongoose which was in a category of its own with an amazinly enchanting vocal sound. The boys are back with a similar vocal but more of a euphoric melody. Light, uplifting and with an original edge.

Johnas - Castamara (Original) Intuition
Brilliant debut release from a new label. Uplifing to the max with one of those spine tingling lead synth riffs that takes you up into the clouds when you're off your rocker. Absolutely addictive....what more can I say!!

Moogwai - Viola (Brisky) Platipus
Brisky seems set on world domination with his record labels and formery a right hand man at Chemical records. The original mix of this passed me by some months ago but Brisky has really brought this track to life with a raw and slightly tougher edge. Tried and tested rocking both the more commercial and cooler trance floors.

Album Review
Anjunabeats Volume Three Mixed by Above & Beyond
Anjunabeats Volume 3 is the new mix album from Above & Beyond. It features the highlights of Anjunabeats' current and future release schedule, mixed together by label heads Jono Grant, Tony McGuinness and Paavo Siljamäki (aka Above & Beyond). The Anjunabeats label has established itself as one of the world's top trance labels and is a firm favourite among DJ's such as Paul Van Dyk, Paul Oakenfold and Armin Van Buuren. A journey through trance's better neighbourhoods, Anjunabeats Volume 3 kicks off with the rocking guitar prog sound of Yilmaz Altanhan 'Eighties' and the disco-house influenced innovation of David West's 'Larry Mountains 54'. The mix then unleashes peak time trancers such as Kyau Vs. Albert 'Made of Sun' and Super8 Vs. DJ Tab 'First Aid' but still finds room for more subtle gems like Lucas & Beltram's 'Trust Me' and Aspekt's 'Hi-Jack'. Anjunabeats Volume 3 also offers a first exclusive glimpse of future Anjuna releases such as Carrie Skipper 'Time Goes By', Aalto 'Resolution' and the new Oceanlab single 'Sirens Of The Sea'.
