This latest track from Dedicated is produced by the combined forces of Jochen Miller and his studio partner, Boy Lamoen. More tough than trancey, read on to find out more about this new release...
We know rising star Jochen Miller from his residency at The Matrixx in Holland and various appearances at a lot of the major Dutch events. His partner in this project, Boy Lamoen, is known from his Collusion Project, under which he produced both 'Impetuous' and 'Conspiracy'. Both of which reached the #1 position in the Dutch, Spanish, Swiss, Norwegian, Swedish and Belgian dance music charts! Sounds like a winning combination and it seems as though it is if DJs such as Tiesto, Rank 1, Armin, Menno de Jong, Sander van Doorn and whole host of others, are to be believed!
:: Modena - Resonator :: Dedicated :: DED015
A: Resonator (Original Mix) 'Resonator' is one of those tracks which relies on a contant level of solidity running throughout it in order to earn it acclaims. The main jist of it is strength produced by deep, thick and tough sounding synths playing an understated stabbed rhythmic melody. Maximum effect is achieved through the use of tough beats and an active yet deep bassline. The large break in the middle of the track is the trancey part where the beats and bass are lost and the synth takes over for a long melodic buildup. The drop is cunningly preceeded by a short section of plain beats and simple synth so you get two drops in effect, one more powerful than the other. The track stays pretty much the same throughout, concentrating more on the strong and driving aspects to finish things off.
B: Resonator (Cor Fijneman Remix) The remix on the flip side of this record follows very much the same structure as the Original Mix. A lot of the sounds and instruments have been changed though and this track has less of a driving feeling. Instead it feels more chunky due to a thicker beat and softer, rounder sounding bass. It still holds a lot of strength, its just a lot less imposing than before. The breakdown features some nice strings which provides a stronger melodic feeling to the middle section. Again we see a 'fake' post-breakdown drop after which the tracks kicks along nicely until the end.
Conclusion:
Overall, both tracks are big and solid and because of their drive, should keep sets alive and the crowds/dancefloors happy.
