© SpaceSasha and Steve Lawler have teamed up their residencies together, Fundacion and Viva, to take over Space in Ibiza on Thursday nights this summer...

THURSDAYS AT SPACE

SPACE (Ibiza's main destination for music loving partygoers), FUNDACION (residency of the world famous Sasha), VIVA (the new home to Steve Lawler – 'the King of Space') and DARREN HUGHES (legendary promoter of We Love… Homelands and We Love… Space) bring you an essential new night out: THURSDAYS AT SPACE.

Think of this as two parties in one hallowed locale. Two inspiring, electrifying DJs. Two spectacular, innovative concepts. The perfect melding of new technology, fresh themes and timeless party energy, with Sasha presiding inside (Fundacion) and Steve Lawler ruling the terrace (Viva). Together they are under one roof for Thursdays at Space.

This night will be the first of its kind for Space. The venue is usually associated with sunshine and daytime partying, but this party will kick off at 10pm on Thursday nights, making full use of the new look Space. The famous terrace has been cleverly redesigned: you'll still have the feeling of clubbing al fresco only now the Funktion One Soundsystem will be running at full power. For the first time ever, the terrace will be open and booming all the way through to 6am. The musical impact will be HUGE.

Starting on July 21st and running for nine weeks, Thursdays at Space will bring a bit of that special atmosphere back to Ibiza; taking inspiration from clubs all over the world, rolling all the best bits into one to make one hell of a party!

Viva
Viva will be a wild celebration of underground music, taking inspiration from Steve's favourite clubs around the world. "It won't be just another club night", says Steve Lawler, one time resident at Sundays At Space who simply couldn't leave the venue behind. "I have played at some amazing clubs all over the world and this is where I am drawing my inspiration from. At these places it isn't just a club, it is a whole other world in there. There are dancers, freaks, crazy décor, amazing lights, people going crazy hanging from the rafters! The vibe is unbelievable. The music fits and it is received by the crowd in the way that it should be, and that's what I want to do at Viva. I want it to be a proper night out. Leave your baggage at the door, let you hair down and be yourself – or whatever else you might want to be!"

Fundacion
Five of the nine weeks (July 28th to August 25th) will see Sasha debuting his Fundacion residency in Europe for the first time. At Fundacion he explores a whole new form of DJ technology – a 100% live digital experience using 'Maven', a custom made controller that enables him to remix and re-edit live. "It's like a live performance every night", he enthuses. "It's completely re-energised me. I'm jumping up and down in the DJ booth and people can feel that on the dancefloor - they know.".

There are already very exciting rumours about which DJs will be joining Steve Lawler and Sasha - some famous, some leading lights from the underground. The premier stage, the smaller terrace upstairs, will play host to friends and accomplices playing the music that excites them, personal sets taking in dub, ambient, hip hop and funk.

"Thursdays will bring back the magic which made Ibiza special in the first place", says Pepe Rosello of Space. "It is important for each club to keep making the effort, to keep providing the most exciting and creative concepts. This will ensure that people coming to Ibiza continue to be mesmerised.".

"Let the show begin!", enthuses Darren Hughes. "We are itching to deliver this new Thursday night at Space, with the terrace running all night, alongside the discoteca inside. We love Steve, we love Sasha and we know you are all going to love the combination of their exclusive residencies, Sasha's Fundacion and Steve's Viva, at Space, the club we all love. We’re counting down the days to July 21st, when we launch this party. Get ready!"
