The first single of this famous German DJ on his re-invented TC label is here! Making a fresh restart with 3 new co-producers, Talla delivers us an uplifting trancer like we haven't heard from him before... Check it out!
The first release on Technoclub entered the shops in April, being a track by Thomas Datt and Kenidel Lopez called Two Roads - 'Antarctic Rain'. While Talla first co-produced his tracks with Grey & Frost (including his previous two singles 'Innocence' and 'The Air That I Breathe'), he has now teamed up with Woody van Eyden, his studiopartner RuDee and mister Alex M.O.R.P.H. in order to bring us some fresh and inventive new tracks.
A-side: Original mix Fast-paced beats, cool percussion rhythms and a deep and everything swallowing bassline starts off the ride that this track is. An amazingly full atmosphere is being created by using lots and lots of original sounds, ranging from rapid bassy chords, energetic melodies and an array of inventive FX. One melody stands out during the build: a continously powering, energizing synth builds itself up more and more, playing an already catchy set of chords. Being accompanied by some relaxing strings, it kickstarts you right into the breakdown... And oh my, this works! A not too complicated, but sóó uplifting melody starts gearing up, ready to unleash itself in full power when the phat bassline and beats kick in again. Lots of backing melodies are being added as well, inducing the climax to be an everything destroying experience. A gorgeous uplifter! Rating: 8,5/10
B1: Van Eyden B2B M.O.R.P.H. mix This remix by Woody van Eyden and Alex M.O.R.P.H. takes a somewhat different approach by using a more 'standard' build with a deep bassline and some nicely building elements. Eerie effects and a repeating super-trancey synth keep the variation in the build and also take care of a nice amount of drive to be injected into the build. When you listen carefully, you'll notice that this melody is a small prelude to the main one from the Original, because it extends itself to the full experience during the break. Subtly boosting the energy more and more, it soon becomes a pure trancey affair using a neat and catchy synth. It's noticeable that Woody and Alex tried to make a more 'accessible' remix here, and in that they certainly succeeded! Rating: 7,5/10
B2: Prelude (intro) This is just a nice little extra for you people who like to have a decent intro to start your set with. Consisting of lush strings and bringing about an almost chill-out like feel during its two-minute duration, this is a cool addition to the two existing tracks.
Conclusion:
Talla and his co-producers have outdone themselves here. The original is a very inventive track with some wicked basslines and beats, accompanied by that super-catchy uplifting melody. The remix retains the full melody, but brings it in a different way by using a more 'standard' approach for the people who like their trance to be more accessible. All in all a very cool vinyl!
