Ian Betts is back from the sunny Island known as Ibiza with his label running full tilt, with a remix of Skyline from Kuffdam and Plant out soon and Luke Terry's Purgatory up in the next while, he seems to be very occupied.
Ian has barely had time to recover from a successful trip to Ibiza where he opened up proceedings for the M8/Goodgreef party with Cream at Amnesia, but July is already shaping up to be a busy month - here's a quick update of what Ian has going on....
Ian has been confirmed as the special guest on Andy Mc's Cream Anthems radio show on Liverpool's Radio City FM this Friday the 8th July from 6pm-7pm. Ian will be chatting about his recent gig at Cream in Ibiza as well as nominating his favourite Cream anthem of all time. Tune in to 96.7 FM or listen on DAB digital radio or click the live stream at www.radiocity.co.uk.
Ian will be making his first DJ appearance in London for 2 months at Innovate's 1st Birthday Party on Saturday 16th July at the Fridge in Brixton. Ian will be lining up in the main room alongside Nick Sentience, Lee Haslam, Phil Reynolds and Red 5 on the night which will also feature a live PA from the Edison Factor. With DJs such as Sharon B, Charlie Rox and Dave Austin in the Ice Box room, this birthday party is already being talked about as one not to miss! See the flyer below for more details....
The following weekend sees Ian make his debut at London's biggest, most famous and longest running weekly event, the mighty Gallery at Turnmills on Friday 22nd July. Ian will be warming up for the night by appearing as a special guest on Gavyn Mytchel's Gallery Radio Show on Ministry of Sound radio from 2pm - 4pm, where he will be having a chat with Gavyn live in the studio as well as playing a few tunes from out of his record box. Ian will then be appearing at the Gallery later that night as he takes over the hallowed Turnmills decks and plays the closing set of the night alongside Radio 1's Fergie, Adam Beyer and Smith & Selway. If anyone is interested in coming along, Ian has a concession list available for the night - please email all names to this address by the evening of Thursday 21st July at the very latest.
Moving into August sees another busy month for Ian - in between playing both days at UDC's 60,000 people Dance Valley festival at the start of the month(www.dancevalley.nl / www.radicalescapes.com) and HeatUK's 20,000 people South West Four festival on Clapham Common at the end of the month (www.heatuk.com), Ian will be headlining HeatUK's very own annual boat party down the Thames on Saturday August the 13th with an exclusive showcase 2 hour set. This is widely regarded as being the biggest and best boat party of the summer in London with around 1000 clubbers cruising along the capital's waterway in the luxurious surroundings of the Silver Sturgeon, the largest passenger boat on the Thames. For more details and ticket info, go to www.heatuk.com.
Ian has been roadtesting his latest production, a remix of Kuffdam & Plant's "Skyline", to great reaction - the track took the roof off of Summum in Ibiza last month and will be featuring heavily in Ian's gigs over the next few month. The track will be released on Ian's own Six:Thirty label at the end of August, but in the meantime you can hear a sample at www.sixthirtyrecords.com - keep an ear out for limited promos soon......
"Shimmer" has been officially released at the start of this month and is already taking the dancefloors of clubs across the globe by storm, with DJs such as Armin Van Buuren, Godskitchen/Radio 1 resident Jon O'Bir, Slinky's Dave Lee, Vibe FM's Big Al and Kiss FM/Gallery legend John Askew all hammering the track!
"Koinomia" has been charted at #9 in Mixmag's trance chart for June. Ian's Original Mix with Matt Williams has been released on the latest Euphoria mix CD, and the track was recently the most downloaded trance tune on TrackItDown.net. It is also being made available as a downloadable ringtone through Tidy Digital....
Well that's about all for July, don't forget to keep up-to-date with mixes, dates and news through Ian's website www.ianbetts.com!
