One of the most hyped trance tunes from 2002 gets a well-deserved remake by German trance producer Andre Visior. Is this a worthy addition to the already existing mixes? Find out here.
About three years ago, a new project was initiated by three brothers from Spain. After producing for themselves for a few years, Vincente, Francisco and Marcos decided to start working together and released their first tune called ‘Cristalle’ just a while later. It was picked up immediately by all the big jocks, especially after the release of the amazing Katana & DJ Precision remix. Mr. Visior, who is on remix duty here, has been quite busy lately. The previous Ligaya release (A.C.’s ‘Estatica’) is produced by him and Carsten Stoll, and the track Visior & Dark Moon – ‘Hidden Sun’ has also just been released on the new Breeze Records label. The disc that is being reviewed here includes just this remix, but the full release will also feature the original on side B of the vinyl.
Andre Visior’s Eternal Flow Mix Typical percussion, whooshing effects and a quickly introduced bassline make up the core of this track during its build. The vibe that’s being created here is very rapid, containing loads of energizing synths and fast chord rhythms, which are all being fuelled by the not too original, but still well working bassline. The first hints to the original are being given away by adding just 4 notes of the main melody, accompanied by a bunch of backing instruments to keep the variety at an acceptable level. One cool thing is the way the main melody builds itself out during the first portion of the break: first consisting of just a few notes, it instantly becomes the full experience we all liked so much a few years back. Making friends with the bassline and powering up more and more, it becomes noticeable that this could be described as a somewhat more energetic interpretation of the original. It doesn’t have many things that make it stand out from other modern-day trance, but it certainly knows how to bring about that 2005 feel. Rating: 7/10
Conclusion:
This remix can’t really compete with the magnificent Katana & Precision mixes, but is surely a nice addition to them because of the more trancy vibe. Some people will complain that we don’t need remakes of old tracks, but I think it’s just cool it has been done because now this track can be played again in full force!
