DJ Tatana's new summer tune is finally here, it has been created for one of the biggest outdoor dance festivals in europe; Street Parade 2005. Check out what we thought about it...
01. Today Is Tomorrow (Radio Edit) If you liked the previous Tatana tunes this one will not disappoint you. The tune starts off with a soft guitarline and some male vocals. Normally I'm not really a fan of male vocals but somehow the vocals in this song appeal to me. After the calm guitar introduction the tune explodes, or more to the point implodes as a really plain synthline accompanied with a kick that is as weak as my smallest toe is introduced. Don’t ask me how but somehow as a whole the tune gets a nice uplifting summer-ish vibe to it that continues through the rest of the song untill in the end when the guitar from the introduction once again comes back to summarize the tune. A cool soft tune that probebly will do well in the dance charts.
02. Today Is Tomorrow (DJ Tatana Sirup Mix) This version is a lot more trancey then the Radio Edit as it has less vocals, a more audible and aggressive bassline and a little bit harder kick. After an eventful build up consisting of kicks, basslines, some synth sounds and a roaring electric guitar occurring once in a while the tune comes to the breakdown which takes the tune to another level. The breakdown starts with a guitarline which is the same as from the Radio Edit. It is followed up by some vocals and some strings that in the end take over completely. The plain synthline from the Radio Edit now starts though this time it is not so plain as it gets a completely new roll working more as the main melody than it did in the Radio Edit. A bassline and some nice uneven beats accompanies the melody untill the track really reaches it peak with a steady beat. A nice track that will make many people put their hands up in the air during the streetparade.
03. Today Is Tomorrow (Yoko's House Mix) The tune is starting off with a short guitar line looping and as time goes by differents elements like kicks, snares and hi-hats are added to the song. After a while the tune stops with the vocals “Today is tomorrow” and a roaring electric guitar is introduced which is followed up by a kick and a kind of techy bassline. A synthline is introduced a while later and after that it feels like the tune is repeating itself over and over and over again until the end when the build down starts. I shall not trick you because the tune does have some small changes but as a whole it feels really dull. I guess that some people will find this remix attractive but I’m not one of them.
Conclusion:
It’s an ‘ok’ single that is mainly intended for the commercial market and as I said earlier if you liked the previous Tatana tunes this one will probably not disappoint you. It’s pretty hard for me to give this one a fair rate although I decide to give this one 5 out of 10.
