 This year the winners of the prestigeous dutch Silver Harp awards are dutch rapper
Brainpower, the band De Kift, the group Green Lizard and finally, our trance-guru, DJ Tiësto. This was anounced today in the show "Denk aan Henk", on the well-known dutch station 3FM radio.
The Silver Harp award is ment to be an encouragement for promising artists who in a
successful way have contributed to the promotion of music and lyrics by dutch
composers or authors. It has been awarded since 1969.
Both the Golden Harp and the Silver Harp are awarded by a jury that consists of
professionals in the dutch music industry. The Silver Harp is awarded by
Conamus, an institute that offers support to dutch easy-listening and light
music inside as well as outside the netherlands, in cooperation with Buma the
union of dutch composers, songwriters and musicpublishers.
This years jury consisted of Arjen Davids (Dutch National Pop Institute), Jeroen
Junte (Volkskrant), Manuela Kemp (RTL Television), Corné Klein (NPS (radio DJ)),
Jack Spijkerman (VARA (radio DJ and TV show host)) and Jan Vollaard (NRC
Handelsblad). Chairman of the jury was Frank Janssen (Muziek en Beeld).
The award-show where the awards will be handed to its winners will take place on Wednesday 27th of February 2002. This event will be held during "Het Nederlandse Muziekfeest" (the dutch music festival) in the Heineken Music Hall in Amsterdam. During the festival a lot of dutch national and international guests will be present under which ofcourse a lot of award winners.
The whole show will be broadcasted by Tros TV on dutch national television on
the 2nd of March and live on dutch radio 2.
