Say no more as we drop Raveology, a double mix album from those cheeky little ravers at Virgin EMI mixed by one of the era's leading lights the Ratpack!
RAVEOLOGY MIXED BY THE RATPACK! VIRGIN/ EMI REL: AUGUST/SEPT 'O5
The Ratpack (AKA MC Evenson Allen and DJ 'Lipmaster' Mark) were and STILL ARE legends of the rave era. Their unique DJ/MC tag team show led them to headline all of the biggest and best parties of the time: Fantazia, Amnesia House, Perception, Interdance, Pure Dance, Rezerection and so on and so forth…
Their 1991 hit 'Searchin' For My Rizla' saw them hit No.1 in the UK beating Madonna and back2front clothes wearing whipper snappers Kriss Kross to the top of the league, all this without any daytime radio support from the likes of Radio 1! Their follow up 'Captain Of The Ship' was equally well received and both are well and truly era defining singles.
As 'old skool' rave began to enjoy it's first renaissance in the mid 90's Ratpack were the first name on promoter's lists to guarantee sell out venues. As time went on Mark began mixing the emerging sounds of nu-skool breaks into their sets which has opened them up to a whole new generation of ravers.
Anyway, back to the old skool… 'Raveology Mixed By Ratpack' features some of the era's classic tunes like Prodigy 'Charliy Says', Sonz Of A Loop Da Loop Era 'Far Out', N-joi 'Anthem', Congress '40 Miles', Ratpack's 'Searchin' For My Rizla' and that's just the first CD! On CD2 the flashback continues with 'Evapor8' by Altern8, 'Hurt You So' by Jonny L, 'On A Ragga Tip' by SL2, 'Livin' In Darkness' by Top Buzz and many, many other hardcore anthems ensuring that if you were or weren't there it doesn't matter, here's your chance to enjoy it all over again!
