Bob Moog, one of the first and foremost purveyors of Electronic synthesizers, and founder of Moog Music, passed away Sunday, August 21, at the age of 71.
After over 50 years of quality synthesizers made, created, and advanced, one of the original pioneers of the Electronic sound has finally left us. Bob Moog suffered brain cancer, diagnosed in late April this year, and did as best he could to combat the disease via chemotherapy and support from his family and friends. Bob Moog is a true legend when it comes to music of all types; his first synthesizers were used mostly by Rock bands, who loved the new sound and styles it brought to the table. Since then, the technology and progress with the synthesizers is definitely apparent to all of us. From the hardcore Industrial fans, to the Jungle kids, to Trancers, to Hip-hoppers, all of us will feel the loss of Bob Moog.
