Dave Seaman's most recent idea was to come up with a compilation that highlighted artists from a certain country, well he decided on Greece with ToneDepth, Kosmas Epsilon, Christian Cambas and more.

Audio Therapy presents Across Borders – Greece (Audio Therapy)

Dave Seaman is well known as a deejay, producer and artist but he has really found a niche with his own label called Audio Therapy. His Audio Therapy compilation with Phil K probably started the successes for this label and it continued when he picked Luke Chable for volume two and with a lot of good artists releasing tunes on his label, he certainly has a future as a label head, if he ever decides to hang up his headphones.

Dave Seaman’s idea was to get a bunch of artists from the same country to give him some exclusive tracks and he came up with a compilation, where he picked the tunes and left the compilation unmixed but it is also showcasing what a certain country has to offer. So his first choice was Greece, since his latest compilation had a lot of tracks from Greek producers. So Greece is first up with G-Pal, Christian Cambas, Tonedepth, Kosmas Epsilon and Stel among others.

Audio Therapy presents Across Borders – Greece

1.G-Pal and Anna Maria X – Within
2.Dousk – Bummer
3.Viton and KST – Yes, I see
4.Phatjak – Supermarket
5.Christian Cambas – Paramount
6.Tonedepth – Everything
7.V-Sag feat Ilias – I Wasn’t Exactly Impressed Enough
8.Stel and Good News – Exactly What You Wanted
9.Nick and John Dalagelis – Quiet (Steve is Listening)
10.Kosmas Epsilon – III Ssa

Dave Seaman has been called a lot of things in his two decades as a jack of all trades but this compilation starts to show that certain things do get better with age. He picked some nasty exclusive tracks with the best of Greece and its just downright brilliant.

We start with the strangely hypnotic G-Pal and Anna Maria X – Within, which is just stunning. G-Pal has long been an underrated Greek artist but he shows with this track, that he instantly has a clue what he is doing. Dousk is unknown to me but his track called “Bummer” is simple yet really dark and deep. The vocal is the best part of this track and it pushes things in an almost Sander Kleinenberg circa 2001 direction. I like how the track is almost subtle progressive house with a dark edge, certainly one that you enjoy.

Viton and KST’s Yes, I see comes in for track number three and it uses some beautiful chords among a chugging bassline. The melody almost takes you away and that’s so nice and for the ones that are dead tired (like me), it instantly relaxes you. Phatjak’s Supermarket comes in at track four and so far, this CD has been a total jem (Dave Seaman picked this afterall). “Supermarket” is a slow burning chuggathon that just goes its own way and the track doesn’t care, if you follow. It has that electro influence at times or at least the sound of it.
Greece’s best producer of current times is probably Christian Cambas, who has created some beautiful yet very dark tunes. His track called “Paramount” is at track five and it is a driving piece of progressive genius. The track has some mean melody that just takes you away but add to it a driving bassline and some beautiful riffwork on Cambas’ part and you basically have “Paramount”. Deep Dish’s fave Tonedepth is in at track six with Everything and this track has his fingerprints all over it. The chunky house sound gives it right away, while this is more progressive leaning, it certainly pushes things in a nice direction. I love how the beautiful melody creeps in and out, while Tonedepth pushes a chunky bassline across.

Track seven is called “I wasn’t exactly impressed enough” and it is like the previous tracks, very well thought out and very well done. This is a dark chunky piece of progressive leaning house and it is very solid. The bassline is really lowkey here, the distorted male vocal does the effective business here. I love the clear vocal line “I don’t give a shit about you, I’m taking my guitar”. Track number eight takes us into the homestretch here, Stel and Good news provide a solid melodic house track that uses the uptempo bassline to make you dance. I love how each of these tracks seems just genius here and how they all seem to be corkers.

The second last track here is Nick and John Dalagelis’ Quiet (Steve is Listening), which is driving progressive with a haunting edge that just makes you bob your head. I love how they make it sound so nice and how you feel so good about nine tracks in. The last track is by Kosmas Epsilon, who seems to be getting more props these days for his tracks and many more deejays are digging his stuff. This track is beautiful and just very well done and it ends the compilation off on a good foot.

Conclusion:
Get this, it is simply well thought out and well done and its what you expect from Dave Seaman. Audiotherapy is certainly one to watch for. © plexi PR
