The name of NR 32 returns with a new release on the Metropolis label featuring two tracks produced in typical Marcos style.
NR 32 is just one of a few aliases that Marcos releases records under and this one has had a few very good previous releases, ‘Rock No More’ and ‘Neuron’ being the other offerings from the alias.
Marcos Mix
If I had to describe to you the style of track I’d say this one fits into the uplifting trance side of things with its builds and lead offs. The sound is typical Marcos from start to finish with a nice steady bass line and flashy kick to get things going. The lead up to the main hook of the track for me feeds in a very nice string of sounds preparing you for the first wave of uplifting melody. The thing I like about this track is the deep tone changes that go along with the low end sounds in the background. Ever so slight changes in tone give the melody a little bit more appeal and pace about it. Marcos has done a few tracks that people would say are a bit techy but this one is nicely paced trance with a catchy hook to it and a nice tough bass line.
Original Mix
To the untrained eye you would not be able to pick out any differences to this from the Marcos Mix. The build up and layout of the track is more or less the same. Introduced through the track are Fred Baker style drum kicks which seem to pop up in a lot of dance records at the moment. The familiar sound and style of Marcos are in here and the original is pretty much a slight twist on the Marcos mix.
Conclusion:
Marcos has been an artist I always look out for on the release list as he has released some superb records. This one is a nice addition to the collection and essential listening to Marcos fans. It’s a good solid uplifting piece of trance with a good melody. Although the two mixes on offer are pretty much similar I’d say this is a good record to buy and slip in a mix. Good work from NR 32 aka Marcos.
