Carlo Resoort is back and he's bringing with him another two quality slices of his tough, techy trance on the Liquid Recordings imprint...
:: Carlo Resoort - Rise / Hammond :: Liquid Recordings :: LQ054
A: Rise 'Rise' is quite a monster. It grabs attention with its tough kicks and scratchy percussion and gets you moving with the deep, thick bass that it features. At the heart of the track and all its toughness, there's a fairly simply constructed melody played by a prominent, quite stringy sounding synth. It's quite catchy and is a good contrast to the pretty powerful and techy side of the track - as the beats and bass pump away the melody glides smoothly over the top. The breakdowns in 'Rise' are also worth noting because they mainly consist of breakbeat patterns which provide the perfect touch of variety plus they go excellently with the tough, gritty bass.
AA: Hammond 'Hammond' is away from the very first moment the needle finds its way into the grooves. It doesn't pound out powerfully - instead a quick rolling bassline drives things along with flowing energy. Until the first breakdown, you're subjected to a slow and methodic progression which builds up the anticipation of what's in store very nicely. The breakdown itself sees the introduction of a repeating hookline rather than a melody which is designed to sit on top of the stronger bass and driving kicks that come in when things drop back in. Moody, deep and driving, every element of the tune urges you onwards. You're provided with a few minutes to catch your breath before it pulls out all the stops again for one last, very welcome, run of the main section.
Conclusion:
Resoort fans won't be disappointed with these two new tracks at all. 'Rise' is tough tech trance right to the core and 'Hammond' is a great display of the more energetic side of tech trance. Two winners, out now, they shouldn't be missed!
