Looking for something to really annoy the neighbours? Then look no further than the brand new track from Dave Joy. Offering a harder approach to dance music comes a new release on Planet Traxx titled ‘Fourth Joyride’
This, as the name suggests, is the fourth release under the Dave Joy alias. Previous release and production work include a very strong release under the Basic Dawn alias, which got remixed by Nu-NRG and tracks like ‘First Impression’. What can we expect from the Swiss maestro with this new release?
Original Mix
Give the style Dave Joy brings to the table a sub name you want, hard trance, hard dance, I never like to get tied down to slipping things into tiny pigeon holes. This mix starts off very hard after a nice little build up at the start. It builds and builds adding more and more background sounds before feeding you what is the melody to come. There’s a nice flow in the lead up to this one, its energetic. Silence comes, the melody starts to build and a nice little vocal slips in. The track gets to work, very fine hard and synth driven melody with a surprising break beat before a second helping. This is very good production work from Dave Joy and one that will be fresh in the minds of the harder dance music fan.
Revibe & Synthetic Remix
Who is these pair? To be quite honest I don’t know myself. I’ve not heard any of these pairs production work so do they offer to this release? Quite honestly they have done a very good job giving a different sound to the track and what I think is almost a filter guitar riff going through the track. They have not done a lot to the arrangement of the track, there’s a nice little intro, build up to the melody and a break beat before another helping of melody. There just seems to be a better flow throughout the track than the original, the mix just seems to be a little more uplifting if a word could be used.
Conclusion:
You really have a pair of fine tracks on your hands here that would slip very nicely into any bosh spinner’s box. Picking out one mix I’d put on the Revibe & Synthetic mix on this one, it’s just got a better flow for me than the original. Fans of the harder style will like this one.
