Two remixes of this song is up for review here at i:Vibes, the Dream Dance remix and the Riva remix. Read what we think of them and if you should run down to your local record-store to buy it!
We are starting off with the Dream Dance remix, which could be found on the CD 1 Dream Dance 22. It has always been a riddle for me how people divide musical styles (I mean electronica music). Minimal techno, tribal techno, groove, hard techno. I don't see any difference. Such thing never happened with me while talking about trance music. I always understood very clear where is trance and where not. But this time I took the Marc et Claude composition and was really disappointed, it caused to lose my bearings... Is this pop music? I cannot understand. four lines of text compilated together with beats and this isconsidered to be "The Best of Dream House and Trance". Very strange. Yes, some rythm is represented in this tune some melody and some good vocals, but together they do not work. It does not sound alright and you start to mistrust whether this is your music. DD team made a number of good reworks but this time they were helpless... The Riva remix isn't a complete rework either. In short it could be described this way: take one Dream Dance remix and play it three times one after other, just pitch it correctly and you will get the right result. Do not think that I am trying to blame Riva for a bad mix, the reason is in the original, I think. It is really to soft, maybe the authors had to add something more, just like a separate melody and then include it into the track. This remix reminds me of a big radio version of some soft pop song (just like a traditional single release or a promo sent to all radio stations).
I would not recommend you to buy this record in this state. If better remixes appear you will be able to read my review immediately.
