After the ''Listen'' single release Moonbootica came with their debut album and yes, just like the ''Listen'' track and the next release ''Pretty Little Angel'' it's quite refreshing!

Moonbootica is the collaboration of Tobias Schmidt (aka tobitob) and Oliver Kowalski (aka koweSix).
On the Moonboutique label they now released their debut album with the name ''Moonbootica''.

Tracklisting Moonbootica- Moonbootica:

01 Big intro
02 To the club
03 Listen
04 Mopedgang
05 Pretty little angel
06 Unless you don’t give a fuck
07 Tame me
08 Runnin’
09 Hildegarde
10 La Selva Beach
11 The architect
12 Don is back again
13 Roll the dice
14 Falling
15 Pimp of the year
16 Kid tamin
17 Hotstuff
18 June
19 Sometimes

Yes, 19 tracks..so we can't complain over the quantity.
But ofcourse the quality of the tracks are far more important, so let's hear what Moonbootica gots in store!

As the ''Big Intro'' leads to the real first track you can already hear the special sound Moonbootica creates..
After this the track ''To The Club'' starts, which can be described as funky tech-house with nice male vocals in a sort of rapping way. Then the past single ''Listen'' appears, which is quite a laidback tune with nice minimal female vocals. Then it's time for more clubstuff with ''Mopedgang'' flawlessly goes on where ''Listen'' left. Cool basslines and effects create a oldschool vibe, so ok..the vibe is really nice, but the track itself just takes some too long to hold the attention.
The 5th track is the new single ''Pretty Little Angel'' which is one of my favourites of the album. Again a laidback track with a dark atmosphere by the mysterious male vocal and great basslines.
So now it's time for some clubstuff again with ''Unless You Don't Give A Fuck'' following.
Also here very cool use of basslines and vocals which repeats the title quite a few times in the track. After the somewhat messy ''Tame Me'' and the cool laidback cross-over ''Runnin'' there is the next big suprise called ''Hildegarde'', which is really a nice decent lounge track with French vocals. It's getting more up-tempo after this with ''La Selva Beach'', but the track itself not really special, especially compared to the tracks before. After this the collaboration with Dj Ultra named ''The Architect'' takes over the attention. Quite a special raw sound with a little ''T.Raumschmiere'' touch in it comes out of the speakers.
''Don Is Back Again'' is more laidback again with a very fat sound over it which perfectly fits in a movie..really one of the best tracks on the album.
And it doesn't stop as the next track ''Roll The Dice'' comes in with rolling basslines, wicked rhymes and fat beats.
Now it's time for the popular electro act Client to appear in ''Falling''. A nice quality tune which sounds a lot like Client's own work.
After ''Pimp Of The Year'', which is a screamy somewhat boring track and ''Kid Tamin'', a sort of short interlude it's time for some nice clubby sounds again.
''Hotstuff'' is indeed hot stuff for the clubs with it's cool effects and catchy sound.
As the cd is almost to it's end the track ''June'' is there to give you a very 'summerish' vibe..really a great production which stays in your head all day.
The cd ends with ''Sometimes'', a short track with male vocals and a vague sound.

Conclusion:
So yes, as we can explore Electro, a little Hip-Hop, Pop, Rock and even some Lounge we can say that there are very different styles on 1 cd.
Is that a negative point? No it's not..the most tracks are very surprising and from good quality..and because of the eclectism Moonbootica really developed a good own sound.

There is only 1 real negative point..
In my opinion some tracks shouldn't have been on the album as 19 tracks is nice, but not if like 5 of them are not that interesting.
But in overall the cd has got enough quality to make it a good album..

A little tip from me is that if you like the more raw clubby sound of some tracks on the album you should really check the single releases with the included remixes!
