The latest release to hit the ever growing Lange Recordings contains two different tracks from two different trance projects - Ija and Szartd & Trancejax...
:: Ija / Szartd & Trancejax - You Are Here / Tenso :: Lange Recordings :: LANGE010
A: Ija - You Are Here The first track on this record comes to us from an alias of Andy Perring who's most well known for his Pulser moniker. The effort he puts in here is a very trancey piece which oozes the kind of quality you'd easily expect from Mr. Perring's work. Solid beats are kept flowing with nicely crafted synths in what is quite a progressive first half of the track. Theres heavy use of some really nice pads and this lushness, combined with the fairly gritty bassline creates a great soundscape in which the track can progress and evolve. There's a long break which concentrates on developing a melodic element from the synths and so when the track drops back in, you're treated to a blissful synthfest of smooth pads and a gentle melodic progression. A strong feeling of warmth surrounds the track and it easily elevates you to a gentle, euphoric state. First class trance.
B: Szartd & Trancejax - Tenso Szartd & Trancejax - aka Mark Versluis & Jan Kalafut - hit us with the next track on the vinyl. It has a stronger feel to it than it's A-side counterpart and is definitely a lot more driving with stronger kicks and bass to push things along. This doesn't detract from the trancey element though. The backing synths are prevalent and they guide you to the breakdown with is quite long and ambient in nature. Structurally, it's very similar to 'You Are Here' as the melodic element kicks off when the track drops back in after a long and energy building drum roll. The synth notes soar high and fill the track up with clean, trancey sounds so you should see hands in the air and a lot of action on the floor when this one is played out. Not to be outdone by the A-side, this track is also top notch stuff!
Conclusion:
As far as trance goes, you can't go far wrong with this record. You have two strong tracks filled with gorgeous synths with which you can drench those dancefloors out there.
