Jürgen Mutschall and Dominik de Leon return using their highly acclaimed DuMonde guise to brings us a new release on their own label. The tune's somewhat different to what were used to from the guys, so hop in and find out why!

I guess DuMonde doesn't need much of an introduction. They've been around for years and have brought us classic after classic. 'Never Look Back', 'Memory' and a vast amount of massive remixes make the duo a not to be overlooked element in trance history.
Their collaboration with Judge Jules called 'What's In Your Head' was the latest thing brought out under the DuMonde project.
This time around, the guys have made a somewhat different tune that does fit their style but sounds more 'experimental' than most of their other tracks...

A-side: Original Mix
Right from the start, this tune has this certain vibe shining out of it. It's hard to describe, but during the first minute it's being fueled by subtle broken beats, whooshy FX and repeating, softly spoken female vocal lines. The main power of the rest of the build-up lies in DuMonde's trademark use of thick basslines, led onwards by harsh percussion and some well worked out backing melodies. The one thing that stands out here is the use of this sort of high sounding stab-synth which plays the first notes of a véry catchy melody every once in a while. Some might describe it as 'cheesy', but I really like the way it contrasts with the rest of the track. During the break the broken percussion from the intro returns, this time with chopped vocal snippets placed on top of them. A definite party atmosphere is being created by slowly bringing in that super-infectious riff we heard before. This time around it encompasses a few more notes, retaining a slick amount of energy. The main climax is a blasting affair with that pumping bassline and the odd-sounding, yet great lil' melody. I'm sure a lot of people will complain about the somewhat new direction they've gone in with this track, but I for one think that this one has the ability to become a true floorfiller. Wicked!
Rating: 8/10

B-side: Heiko Gemein's Elektronik Cut
Something a tad different from trance is being offered on the flipside. Heiko Gemein's interpretation of 'I Feel You' is an (as the name says) electro-housey remix, filled with distorted Benny Benassi-like basslines, neat effects and original sounding percussional elements. Altered bits and pieces of the original's vocals are being implemented every now and then, with all the bassline mania slowly evolving behind the rest of the tracks structure. A more beepy version of the main riff makes its first appearance in one of the tracks many breaks, retaining the 'catchy-factor' at its highest level. The overall feel of this mix is less energetic than the original, but that might have just been the main goal of the remixer. His approach to 'I Feel You' has become a neat track on its own which can be played in a huge variety of sets varying from house to trance.
Rating: 7/10

Conclusion:
As said, I reckon some people will degrade this track as being 'too cheesy' and all, but that's just something that has to be looked through in my opinion. The party factor of the original is amazingly high and the combination of that true DuMonde percussion with the cool melody is just something that a lot of people will dig on the dancefloor. Heiko Gemein's remix is cool as well and can't really be compared to the original because of its shift in style.
DuMonde have shown that they're a versatile producers duo who are able to create somewhat more experimental tracks as well. Well done!
