Surefire trance label Galactive hand over a brand new two track release from the well respected Re:Locate. Read on to find out how they've got it spot on again...
:: Re:Locate - Remorse / Rolling Thunder :: Galactive :: GALSO013
A: Remorse 'Remorse' is a pretty deep and moody piece of trance. It is fuelled well by a good combination of dominating, punchy kicks and an icey percussion leaving the bass to pulse and simmer away suscpiciously in the background. An unexpected quiet and lonely sounding synth led breakdown emerges from this dark and moody start and is used to, rather massively, build up a coarse and techy synth which unleashes a simple hookline that grows and fades, giving the track a distinctly strong and powerful feeling over the top of it's slightly menacing tones. A final breakdown gives rise to the strongest synth section yet where the tune is hammered home and will unquestionably have the dancefloors totally rocking. Big, powerful and dark trance.
B: Rolling Thunder 'Rolling Thunder' is a track with a more immediate energy. The kick is punchy and the bassline is lively and constantly on the move. This is more of a classic Re:Locate track really because we see things taking shape during the breakdown as a nice trancey melody is built up and let go (rather nicely by a kick driven 'pre-drop' moment). The track is built upon a tried and tested structure - the melody drops back for a while and a final breakdown is used to squeeze every last drop of potential from the following climactic build up so you can enjoy the cool and simple melody once again.
Conclusion:
Re:Locate again live up to their high standards. 'Remorse' is a change to their usual style where the focus is on the dark and moody atmosphere made absolutely killer by that strong and grinding synth. 'Rolling Thunder' follows their standard tried and tested method and so is duly a solid piece of trance which most will enjoy.
