Adjusted Music continues it's slow but steady release of super trancey productions with Deep Voices' latest two track release, 'Alone Again' and 'Drifting'...
:: Deep Voices - Alone Again / Drifting :: Adjusted Music :: ADJ005
A: Alone Again (Thomas Datt Remix) You know that when the basics are right, then you're probably onto a winner. Here, the solid as rock beat, defined percussion and deep, energetic bass are all perfectly matched and get things off to a good start. The track is soon awash with lovely trancey synths layering up some wonderful melodic backing, creating a building and growing sensation. The breakdown is where it all starts to happen though, and is a true moment of beauty. It is led by a strong and pure synth with hints of distortion which plays a low paced and incredibly moving melody. The rest of the track thrives off this when everything kicks back in and the end result is something so true to trance, so fantastic to listen to that it's almost too easy to get lost in this track, especially when more layers of synth are poured in, making this one of the most beautiful things I've heard in a long time. This is a really good track.
B1: Alone Again (Original Mix) It doesn't take too long to see where Thomas Datt was coming from when he produced his remix of 'Alone Again'. He's basically taken the Original and just super-honed the instruments and sounds. Here, the structure is the same and all of the instruments used are very, very similar. The beats aren't as strong and driving as before and also the track is driven more strongly by foreground melodies instead of the lush floods of synth. Not wanting to take anything away from the Original, it is still an excellent track, just more on the soft and mellow side.
B2: Drifting (Original Mix) 'Drifting' feels quite closely related to it's A and B1 counterparts. It has that same standard trance structure and utilises an energetic, lively bassline. Again, soft synth chords are used to progress the track and slowly build things up before a melody is introduced in the breakdown. As things kick off further, the melodies used are themselves also quite lively and follow a progression of their own, before the track begins to gently fade away and play itself out.
Conclusion:
What a cracking release! Three great tracks, but Thomas Datt steals the day with his totally awesome remix.
