Half of the duo formerly known as Saeed and Palash has gone the solo route and remixed 14 exclusive tracks for a dark and dirty mix CD.
Saeed Younan – Re-Mixed (Star 69 Records)
Saeed Younan is often forgotten about in the great world of Tribal these days. People often forget that with partner Palesh, they wowed people with up for it mixes. Saeed has gone the solo route of late and judging by the responses of his sets at Boa in Toronto, he certainly is a crowd favorite. This CD is a mix CD/artist album because Saeed has redone every single track, he’s only kept the original vocal and that’s it, the rest he has rebuilt himself. He’s included some remixes of classic tracks like BPT’s Moody and Tenaglia favorite Celeda – The Underground among others.
Tracklist
1.Patrocinio Beltran – Too Far 2.Suzanne Palmer – Sound Of the Drum 3.Stephan M and Nicky Scann featuring Nadia – Go Deeper 4.BPT feat. DM Binxter – Moody 5.Saeed Younan – Rock The Rhythm 6.Ariel G – Behold Malfunction 7.C&M Production – True House 8.Celeda – The Underground (Unreleased Mix) 9.Saeed Younan – You Know I Got It 10. DJ Wady – Mazka 11.Club 69 – Warm Leatherette 12.Krypz – I Love The Bass 13.Sumantri feat. Plural – How Does It Feel 14.Tom Sawyer - Freedom
Saeed Younan takes you through a ride of dark, dirty and just downright filthy tribal house with fourteen exclusive tracks. Younan kept the original vocals on all the tracks but apart from that, he basically remixed them (hence the title). The nasty Sound of the Drum is made even better here, followed by the track with the “Sexy Motherfucker” line, which always gets top marks in my books. He even redid the Tenaglia fave “Moody”, which was a treat.
Younan then goes into his own bag of tricks and pulls out his own track called “Rock the Rhythm”, then it is followed by Ariel G’s Behold Malfunction, then “True House”. Younan is full of surprises here, with an unreleased mix of “The Underground”, which was another Tenaglia fave. He then weaves his magic through another six tracks, which are filthy and dirty. You gain the Steve Lawler Nubreed 3 atmosphere and its just mean.
It refreshing to see a deejay remix and re-edit all the tracks and give you something new, rather than some bog standard tracks slapped from all the whites that he got and quickly mixed by that deejay for a quick cashin. I love to see deejays put effort and I imagine it took Younan a long while to do this but it was well worth the wait.
Conclusion:
Dark, Dirty, Filthy and just good ol tribal house, just how I like my music. Younan does a heck of a job by not killing the classics in Moody and the Underground. Its amazing and deserves a good look.
