Everybody in the world of Trance has come across a record by the Thrillseekers. On the back of their very popular Night Music album comes a new LP release of their By Your Side record with a remix from German Martin Roth
Here it is then the brand new single from the Thrillseekers. They have over the years released some truly beautiful tracks and have added that sparkle to a fair few remixes. By Your Side, featuring the vocals from Gina Dootson, is the first single release of this year but you may remember the original track as it did feature on their album ‘Night Music’ released at the end of last year.
A1: Martin Roth Mix B1: Original Mix
Let’s get stuck into this one. The track kicks off with a solid but yet soft edged bass line. It’s feeding you what is to come right at the start with background percussion slipping in and out. It’s a very relaxing introduction that brings in the vocals. The vocals in the track are very good indeed, not one bit cheesy and sung perfectly in tune with the track’s tone. A nice break in the middle brings in a dreaming guitar stringed section and a good doe of vocals for good measure. After the brief period of chill the track comes back and the main hook on the vocals comes back. Don’t expect a pounding uplifting monster like so many other tracks by the Thrillseekers. This is a dreamy piece of trance with an excellent vocal to be enjoyed with a fine glass of wine or a beverage of your choice.
Martin Roth is man tipped for big things this year. He’s been listed is many dance music publications to be one of the emerging talents to go big in the months to come. I’m sure many will tell you he already is, especially if your getting remix duties with productions by the Thrillseekers. What does Mr Roth bring to the mix on this one I hear you cry? The vocals from the original are there but only featured loosely. The distinctive deep bassline pounds away with a good slap and kick to help it along its way. You can tell it’s a Martin Roth produced mix. He’s given what is an excellent original mix a different arrangement and turned it into a track which builds and builds until it explodes into a typically uplifting monster by the time the track gets into gear. I like what he has done with this. It’s aggressive and makes good use of the vocals.
Conclusion:
The name alone is reason to buy a record without checking out the goodness inside but this one really is a worthy addition to your record collection. Two very different mixes which each having their own distinctive sound. The original creates a very relaxing laid back feeding the listener a story all the way through. Martin Roth puts his own sound into the mix and come out trumps again with a very good remix. I like this one and I’m sure I’m not alone.
