New release of the tune “If I Could” by Tatana with a new remix by Simon and Shaker.
Already before I pressed the play button I felt that this version had an unfair assignment in competing with the wonderful Ronski Speed version and unfortunately my apprehensions came true. This remix doesn’t add very much to the electronic dance music scene and it surerly feels very watered-down and pale. The tune itself is a pathetic attempt to something more in the techy, prog, electro style. The only light in the tunnel is the break when the tune stops off and a guitar jumps in the picture together with the vocals that we know so well from the earlier versions. However, the break doesn’t last very long and gradually it once again falls back to the fog of melancholy.
Conclusion:
I might be a bit hard but this version surely is plain and I can’t recommend this one for those of you who read this. Instead I would recommend you to spend your money on the first release with the Ronski Speed remix.
Final score is a 4/10.
