Following hot on the heels of his sell out Bosh Live Tour (which saw one club forced to lock out hundreds of people as the venue was already completely full), Eddie Halliwell Wigan's favourite son is proud to announce the launch of his new clubbing brand Fire It Up!
Named after the scratch king's legendary catch phrase, 'Fire It Up' will encompass events and much more kicking off in March with a series of UK dates, pitching Eddie against some of the world's most cutting-edge DJs, including Judge Jules, Marco V and Adam Sheridan. And as if launching Fire It Up wasn't giving Eddie enough reason to smile, for the second year running, he also been named as one of the hosts for the acclaimed Residency show on Radio 1, having won this coveted position following his previous Essential mixes and a series of outstanding guest mixes on Judge Jules' & Pete Tong's regular Weekend shows. Despite only just turning 26 Eddie Halliwell is now firmly established as one of the most exciting DJs in the world having just been crowned Mixmag's World Number 1 DJ for a second time and also earlier this year being Voted 17th in The 2005 World DJ Mag Top 100 Poll. Unbelievably passionate about music he infects the crowd with his energy, captivating them with his highly visual performances (his interaction with the crowd has got to be seen to be believed!) and jaw dropping turntable trickery he really is a 'true' DJ. Eddie's technical ability is such that when he is in front of the mixer he utilises it as a means to create energy and new sounds with rapid cut ups and warped effects. And it's not just the dance floor that loves this mind boggling trickery Eddie is now working alongside leading audio manufacture Pioneer to help develop the next generation of DJ technology! His unique blend of hard dance, trance, techno and hip hop scratching, is in demand from Australia to Japan. He was even invited to launch the Malaysian Grand Prix performing from a helipad. While the true Eddie experience can only be gained in a club, he has also mixed compilations for Ministry Of Sound and Gatecrasher and his recent 'Fire It Up' Mixmag compilation has seen the magazine's offices plagued with calls from members of the public desperate to get hold of back copies. This album followed in the footsteps of the two mighty 'Bosh!' albums he has also mixed for the magazine, the first of which was their most successful CD to date. The Fire It Up Tour runs from March 4th June 4th.
