Tony Cha Cha, who is especially known from his hit 'Slut' together with Dennis Christopher, strikes back with a new release. Read on to see what it's like!
As 1 of the members of Rockefeller (with Dennis Christopher and Mark Simmons) and after several releases like 'What's Going Down', the infamous Slut! and 'Somebody Else' Tony Cha Cha presents 'Sonar'. Now let's see if this new release is good enough to rock the clubs.
Tony Cha Cha- Sonar (Original Mix)
The Original Mix of Sonar begins with a smooth build up to the loud beat that's combined with powerful claps. Suddenly the bassline comes in and reminds me at the sound which Sidney Samson uses often for his tracks. Furthermore the bassline is supported by a high sound what just could have rolled out of an old school computergame. In the middle of the track the bassline is stopped and there is a long building up with several cool effects which leads to the bassline again. Although it's quite a simple tune it sure will have effect on the dancefloor.
Tony Cha Cha- Sonar (Sidney Samson Remix)
For this remix Sidney Samson had the urge to put a lot more sounds in the track then there was in the original and I only cay say he was right. As Sidney uses several short low toned synths to create grinding basslines the track really is just some more complete in this way. Together with another cool effects from Sidney himself this track sure must be a highlight in several house sets.
Tony Cha Cha- Sonar (Tony Cha Cha Remix)
Tony himself also did another version of Sonar and it actually has a same arrangement as the Original Mix but with a some more raw touch. In my opinion Tony could have done a little bit more on this remix of his own..
Conclusion:
Overall it's a good release with the Sidney Samson Remix as highlight. But also the Original Mix or Tony Cha Cha Remix are able to set several dancefloors on fire as it is just because of their bad ass basslines.
