What began as a party for 10,000 friends on Clapham Common in 2004 quickly doubled in capacity last summer to see 20,000 dance music fans converge for an afternoon of the best music played by some of the biggest DJ’s on the planet such as Sasha, John Digweed, Danny Rampling, Steve Lawler, John 00 Fleming, Lisa Lashes and Carl Cox.

To kick things off in fine style London’s biggest outdoor dance event South West Four launches on Saturday 15th April for an evening of audio delights featuring one of the biggest DJs on the planet: Carl Cox …& friends as he kick starts this summers proceedings by unveiling the line up for this years event!

Carl enjoyed playing at last summers event so much he immediately asked to return this year, not just to DJ but to officially host this summers event and not wanting to do things by half, Carl is the official figurehead for South West Four 2006. At the launch, Carl will be performing an exclusive 4 hour set to officially launch this summers event alongside a stage show set to blow you away.

Joining Carl in the 4,500 capacity main room will be friends Mr C owner of The End nightclub in London as well as the man behind the legendary Superfreak Parties and the legend that is Tim ‘Nastydirty’ Sheridan.

The foyer will see London’s hottest breaks event Platform 12 turn up the bass as they welcome world famous DJ/ Producer, Fabric resident and owner of Lot49 and Adrift records Meat Katie to headline the proceedings alongside Air’s Ali B, Future Funk Squad – who’ll be launching their new album ‘Audio Damage’ on the night - plus Platform 12 residents, Clive Morley, Lady Killer and Travis Lucas ensuring The Foyer is rocked to its very foundations whilst upstairs sees Hot & Spicy, Plush De Funk and Dirty Groove serve up the best is tough and funky house.

** Please note this event is not simply ‘another’ club night at the Academy. Alongside Carl’s special launch ceremony expect stage shows, performers and festival oddities alongside opportunities for attendees to not only be the first in line for their South West Four festival tickets but to also enter exclusive competitions, giveaways and chances to win VIP packages to this summers main event.

As part of this summers Metro Weekender, the South West Four festival takes place over the August Bank Holiday weekend in London. The ‘Weekender’ will also be doubling up in Cardiff on the same weekend for the first time and this year’s events will see us join force with our friends at Get Loaded in the Park for the first time to, as we offer clubbers in both cities joint tickets to gain entry to both events!
