Radio 1 and internationally well known DJ Judge Jules has some very big news regarding a new mix album and a brand new artist album. Read on for the details…
The Judge is otherwise known as Julius O'Riordan and has been on the DJ circuit since the nineties. His Radio One show is looking stronger than ever and keeps pumping out every Saturday night on Radio 1. On the album front the last time you would have heard the Judge would have been on a compilation of some form or another. His best would possibly be the early Ministry of Sound releases.
Then, just when you have not heard a Judge Jules album two pop up all at once, an artist album and a brand new mix compilation. It’s been no secret that the Judge has been working on an artist album for some time. His last offering artist wise came under his Hi-Gate alias with Paul Masterson. Most notably the biggest track released under that name was a little number called ‘Pitchin’. His last big single release came by a collaboration with Michael Woods for the track ‘So Special’. That did fairly well by all accounts and could be a taster of what to expect from the rest of the material on the album.
He has spun a few of the tracks listed in his album on his Radio 1 show and no doubt been playing them to unsuspecting members of the clubbing public to gauge the reaction. Proven Worldwide is the name of the artist offering and here’s what the tracklist shapes up as:
Proven Worldwide
1. Alma Fe 2 2. Ordinary Day 3. So Special 4. Keeps On Slipping 5. Without Love 6. Puesta Del Sol 7. The Night You Kept Me Warm 8. Diversion 9. Keep Me Running 10. Requiem For Rascals 11. The Serpent 12. Rumble
Release Date: May 23 Label: Koch Records
I’m sure there will be a blend of Trance and funky stuff in there keeping with the style Judge plays. I’ve not heard any other tracks aside from So Special so I can’t say what the rest of the album will be like.
Not only does the Judge do his Radio 1 show he also runs a radio show over in the states for Sirius Satellite Radio under the banner The Global Warm Up. That’s the name of his forthcoming mix compilation taking the trance and harder styles he plays ever week and reflecting those over a 16 track mix. Here’s how that one looks:
The Global Warm Up
1. Signalrunners: 3000 Miles Away 2. Randy Katana: Pleasure Island 3. E-Craig: Call It A Day 4. K90: Red Snapper 5. Marco V: False Light 6. Randy Katana: Play It Loud 7. Marcel Woods: Advanced 8. Fred Baker vs Greg Nash: Electro Shock 9. Blanco Diablo: Absolute Control 10. Solid Globe: Blackwood 11. Judge Jules: Keep Me Running 12. Paul Van Dyk: The Other Side (Martin Roth Dub) 13. Dogzilla: Without You 14. Jamx & De Leon: Keep It That Way (DJ Gert Remix) 15. Matt Darey feat. Izzy: Eternity 16. Judge Jules & Michael Woods feat. Marcella Woods: So Special
Release Date: April 24th Label: Koch Records
A nice looking mix compilation by all accounts. The release dates are the dates the albums will be available in the states. As of yet I'm not sure of the release dates for the rest of the world. They will no doubt be available in a good record store near you soon of on those dates.
