At Sander Kleinenberg's Little Mountain Recordings every new release is always a surprise, want to know what this one is like? Read on..
2Faced is an alias of the Dutch dj/producer Don Diablo and with this release called Rock Music he brings (how surprising) a rock orientated houser. Damien J Carter, who did the remix on the flip, had some other ideas with it..
A1. 2Faced- Rock Music (Don Diablo Remix)
On the A-side there is Don's own version of Rock Music. The track begins as a normal houser with tough drums, some nice sounds (where some even remind me of Daft Punk) and cool effects on short vocals saying ''Rock Music''. As the main guitar riff comes into the tune the track really gets a boost and should give the crowd a real 'rock & roll feeling'. A very good element of this track is that it's just full of effects which let the tune don't bore for a second. All this make the track a real crowd pleaser.
B1. 2 Faced- Rock Music (Damien J Carter Remix)
Damien J Carter, mostly known from his releases on Milk & Sugar Recordings, is responsible for the remix. This remix is totally different then Don Diablo's version as the only thing that the both mixes have in common is that the same vocals are used. But even the vocals are very minimalized in this version and so it gives the feeling that you are listening to a whole other release. Damien sets up a really nice proggy house remix with the attention on the bassline and nice effects to create a summerish feeling.
Conclusion:
2 great, different mixes of this cross-over release where above all the Don Diablo Remix with the addictive guitar riff should literally rock the dancefloors. But also Damien's remix would work on the dancefloors as the summerish vibe is just amazing.
