A whole host of talents join forces here to create this vocal trancey number. The whole project spans 3 artists in production and another 4 for the remixes so variety is the key here...
:: Falkon & Nebula Feat. Sasja - So Lost :: Equilibrium
1) So Lost (Original Mix) The original is full of distinctive sounds. It has an overly trancey vibe to it - swirling ambience, soft pads, nice chord changes and some meaty synths to push out those strong melodies at the peak moments. This mix is very vocal indeed. A lot of the first section are most noted for the perky bass and soft vocals leading the way. The breakdown is predominantly vocal, but we see some really nice sounding piano work coming in to back things up and that works really well, creating a calm and soothing atmosphere which in turn suits the vocals down to the ground. When things do finally drop, the powerful trancey synths take over and do their bit, injecting energy and stepping the pace up. Definitely worth a listen if you're into your vocals!
2) So Lost (Ponticelli Magnetico Remix) This remix is much faster and you can tell straight away by the punchy beats and energetic bass that the agenda here is somewhat different. The vocals here have been filtered to sound as if they are coming through over a kind of radio transmission - a little similar to what you might of heard in Stu Allan's 'A Feeling'. This effect on the vocals makes them sound sort of distant and remote, which has a nice effect - especially in the breakdown which is laced with some fab sounding chords. Mostly, this track is about pace and energy and this is emphasised by the use of some techy stabs in the culminating main sections of the track. Somewhere between hard dance and tech trance, this fiesty little number should spark some dancefloor movement qute easily.
3) So Lost (DJ Choose Remix) DJ Choose steps up to provide a different sounding remix than what you might expect to hear from one of his productions or remixes. Instead, it's totally techy through and through with hints of techo shining through in the percussion. The only interlude is in the breakdown where we see some more piano action topped up with the bulk of the vocals. One good build later and the track is pumping again, not just with the help of stabs of techy synth, but also with a kind of hybrid stabbed synth made up from the piano and some pads - very interesting! This is some excellent techy tunage which should definitely be given a good looking at.
Conclusion:
Lots of variety here coming from a good bunch of artists and producers. These three mixes provide quality trance, hard dance and tech trance, and there are still other mixes in the pipeline, so keep your eyes and ears peeled!
