Plass is probably not a name too many people are familiar with - but with this track, he definately should be. Read on for the full review of his latest release on Sinister Recordings!

Welcome to Buenos Aires - Original Mix starts off fairly simple - a decent breakbeat, with a very simple, minimal melody interspersed every few beats. A few cycles later, you'll actually hear what appears to be a trumpet meld into the mix. While that may not sound too appealing, it actually works rather well. Around the 2 minute mark the bass drops in, giving the track a whole new appeal, and a much more fleshed-out feel. Rather than try to create an overpowering, heavy-duty dancefloor killer, Plass took a different approach with his composition - he lets the melodies flow in and out of the track at very appropriate intervals, creating a great feel-good track that would make a great warm-up for damn near any set. It might not make you feel warm and fuzzy inside, but it's definately got a good groove.

The Dobbs mix is the real selling point of this track though. It starts in much the same way, but the melodies don't lead off here. Instead, the first bassline drops in around the minute-and-a-half mark, giving the track a more aggressive feeling than its original. The melody kicks in at the 2-minute mark, and is much more pronounced in this version - certainly not a bad thing, since the melody is a nice, haunting one. The real treat comes in around 3 minutes, when the heavier bassline drops in. It's worth noting that this track doesn't make use of the trumpet effect this time around, and the this version does sound all the better for it, due to it's darker nature. Dobbs' mix isn't exactly a stormer either, but it's definately a great ride, and one that could easily be a lead into or out of peak-time.

Conclusion:
For someone that is relatively unkown, Plass has done a superb job here. He didn't go for anything overpowering, but oddly enough, his track was all the more powerful because of it. Great effort, and I hope to hear more of the same from this guy.
