What new with the man who thinks 95% of trance these days is derivative, unoriginal bollocks? There's a new collaboration, a brand new GTR single and Gareth's very own Podcast to tuck into.
Gareth Emery has come a long way in just a few years and is one of the most diverse producers of Trance in today's market. April will be rolling into May soon and here are all the details on what's new with Gareth right now.
New Productions
The brand new GTR single has a name. Cops is currently in production and promises to return the old GTR sound back to today. The only details on it right now are that it's got a Miami Vice style riff as the main hook to it, I can see you all digging out the theme tune right now in preparation. Along with Gareth's mix remix duties will be performed by George Acosta, a very popular trance DJ from the states and one of Mixmag's future heroes Ali Wilson. No release date as yet but when its all ready you can expect it to be out on Five AM records.
Another DJ from the states Nicholas Bennison put his head together with Gareth to come up with 'Interlock'. A forthcoming collaboration soon to be released on Five AM. I've had the pleasure of hearing this one and you can expect a tasty bit of funky tech sounding trance with a zippy hook line to it. Two mixes of this record with the other mix being a bit more of a progressive pounder. There's big support for this one by many of the top jocks like Ferry Corsten and M.I.K.E.
The Gareth Emery Podcast
Following the lead of a fair few dance music DJ;s and producers Gareth has jumped on the podcast wagon that just keeps getting bigger and bigger. People have been releasing these for years but Podcasting is Apple's way of pushing more sales into their Itunes music service. You'll be please to know that Gareth's latest podcast is freely available on his official podcast page. The series is up to Episode 4 with a new show being released every fortnight full of ten hot tracks in a 45 minute mix.
