The Beatfreakz lay their hands on the classic 'Somebody's Watching Me' by Michael Jackson. HI_Tack, Dennis Christopher and Ian Carey did the remixes. Curious? Read on..
A1) HI_Tack Remix
After HI_Tack's great success with 'Waiting For You' based on another track by Michael Jackson it seems a logical choice to choose HI_Tack as remixers of this track. Just like HI_Tack’s latest hit this track also has some great elements as cool effects with Michael Jackson’s voice, the organ from the original track and very catchy basslines. I can not say anything else that also this mix of 'Somebody's Watching Me' will be a success just like their own ‘Waiting For You’ as it just got the same (or even better) sound. A guaranteed hit!
B1) Dennis Christopher Remix
The vibe of Dennis Christopher's remix does remind me a lot of the work of the popular Swedish house producer Axwell. The mix includes some fine percussion and has a great building up to the main part of the track where the vocoded vocals come in and where an old school house vibe takes over the track. Some later the break begins and the organ sound from the original Jackson track begins, together with a smooth breakbeat it builds up and explodes again when the old school house vibe is back again, ready to destroy the dancefloor.
B2) Ian Carey Remix
Also Ian Carey, a much seen remixer on Spinnin’, comes with his interpretation. His mix is a smooth houser, just some more deeper then HI_Tack’s remix, but certainly not too deep. There is a a lot of use of the vocals and Ian used an extra synth what gives the track a more emotional touch. Although Ian did a nice job creating a ‘not too commercial, not too deep’ remix it just isn’t so exciting as the other 2 remixes on the vinyl.
Conclusion:
Really keep an eye on this release as especially HI_Tack and Dennis Christopher’s versions are candy for the dancefloors!
