Trance Awards 2006 - The Results!

Saturday 24th June saw trance fans from across the globe converge on Air in Birmingham (the home of the legendary UK trance club Godskitchen) for a sell out event to hear the results of the 2006 Trance Awards powered by dance download portal www.trackitdown.net. Over the last few months 20,000 trance fans from around the world have made themselves heard by voting through the website and Saturday saw the results unveiled for the first time.

Long time Radio 1 DJ and trance legend Judge Jules hosted an awards that saw Armin Van Buuren and his Armada Records camp clear up winning; Best Compilation, Best DJ, Best Radio Show, Best Resident and Best Music Video with Armin recording a special thanks to his fans. Whilst not one to take things lying down, Paul van Dyk and his Vandit Records crew won; Best Label, Best Producer and Best Live Act with Nu NRG’s Giuseppe Ottaviani collecting the awards.

An ecstatic Sander van Doorn was presented the well earned title of 'Best New Producer'. He celebrated by bringing the house down with a storming DJ set featuring a cheeky rework of Artic Monkeys 'You Look Good On The Dancefloor' which was without a doubt tune of the night! Other sets for the evening came in from event host Judge Jules, Marcel Woods and Gareth Emery whilst upstairs went off to the sounds of house acts Lee Cabrerra, Richard Dinsdale and Funkagenda amongst others leading to one rocking event!

With some very special plans to make next years event even more of a celebration we’d like to congratulate all the winners and thank all the sponsors for once again supporting this project.
