The 100th release from Platipus celebrates years of quality progressive releases from the UK based label, including previous tracks from POB, Art of Trance, Albion and Moogwai. This latest sampler release are 2 nice progressive tunes taken from the album '10 Squared'
This 2 track sampler takes 2 remixes from the 10 Squared Album reflecting the best of Platipus with their 100th release. The 2 tracks come from Z2 otherwise known as Solar Stone with their "I Want U", and also from Universal State of Mind with a track titled "All Because of You". Tracklist
A1. Z2 - I Want U (Moshic and Zidan Mix) B1. Universal State of Mind - All Because of You (Sunday Club Mix)
Hot on the heels of their latest release under the guise of Liquid State, Solar Stone and their more progressive guise of Z2 keep it deep and groovy with the remix from Israeli producers Moshic & Zidan which is definitely to the likes of Sasha and Digweed style at the moment. The deepness is nicely countered by some chilling melodies about halfway. A nicely done remix which keeps some of the original elements, but adds a more deeper bassline to it. For the fans of Moshic and Zidan, this one will please the ears, but for others, this may be a bit too monotonous and dull.
On the b-side, we have one of the latest releases from influential producer Marc Mitchell and his production partner Stuart King under the guise of Sunday Club.
The remix starts off nice and throbbing, and you begin to think whether or not this is a production by the likes of Dave Seaman or Dominion, but this changes after a couple of minutes into the first break, bringing a small amount of haunting vocals and a then progresses back to its original bassline. Not until just over half way, you get the melody kicking in and the track seems to gain a little pace towards the end. For those sets which require a little phasing from House - Trance, this is definitely one to check out.
