They rocked Trance Energy 2006 with their remix of Communication, who really are Coldware and what do they have to tell us? Read on....
Oren: We all heard about Coldware, played by the biggest DJs around, but we haven't had the chance to know who work behind this project, can you tell us?
A: Emmanuel: Well, actually Coldware is Emmanuel Benami & Harel Zemach main alias as producing tech-trance/techno. Coldware was founded by us in the year 2005 with the first single release named "Fusion" in Difuse Label but actually it has been formed long time before with out any single due to some problems with former manger. Before Coldware we had some other aliases such as: United Boys ("Away From You" at Illuminate Label), Informers (The Dawn of Mankind), Factor E, Har-L, M.A.N.U. and Engage.
Harel: Emmanuel and I started working together in the year 2000 working on home pc after a friend of us both arranged us too meet since then and until now we're working on all the projects together with Emmanuel's brother 'Daniel B.' under the name 'Defcon 1' which will be one of the new things to come.
Oren: Expect for producing? Do you also DJ as well?
A: Oh man, you won't believe how much we love to DJ besides of producing, even more when we're DJing our own material, seeing the crowed going nuts with some fresh material and ruff sounds does it for us. The only problem is that we don’t get many gigs because we don’t have any manager these days to take care of those things…
Oren: In your opinion what you rather to do, a remix of an existent track or to produce a track of your own?
A: Emmanuel: For me myself, I rather do something new, exciting that comes from feelings and emotions, I like the creation itself better than remixing and existent track, tough I like very much to remix tracks and making bootlegs for ourselves just to see the crowed on the dance floor with the new style remix, the looks on people faces when they hear an old classic with new touch.
Harel: It's a hard question, when I'm working with Emmanuel on something original I'm getting more excited from the creation itself while when I'm remixing an existing track I have a free hand to re-build the creation in my own eyes.
Oren: Many producers start using from amateur computer programs before they use professional equipment, do you think that's the way things should be done?
A: Emmanuel: I think it's not only the way things should be done; it's the only way things could be done. I don’t think some one can start his way from the most professional software's and hardware with out gaining any skills and some background with some more simplified software's.
Harel: Yes, I think people should start creation from amateur equipment and gain some experience and only than move up to more professional equipment. That's the way I believe the music will be much richer and will sound better than some one that will start straight from professional software, besides that's part of the fun you know, waiting to get enough money to buy new equipment and new software just to try and get to higher levels.
Oren: What's your latest remix/production and what's the next one?
A: Our latest remix was 'Armin – Communication (Coldware Cold Remix)' that is signed in Armada Records. Our next production will be under a different alias, Engage (hopefully soon) and meanwhile we're working on several new projects such as Coldware – Noise Forecast and, Coldware – Invert.
Oren: For those who interested, where we can find more information about Coldware?
A: Well, www.coldware-music.com www.myspace.com/coldware www.discogs.com/artist/Coldware
Oren: What kind of information we can find in your official site?
A: We think it has everything inside, from News, Biography, Discography, our Top10, Gallery, Links, Guestbook, Booking and Schedule.
Oren: Where you get your inspiration? And which DJ or Producer is your role model?
A: Emmanuel: I get my inspiration from about every single thing, it could be the sound of water and it could be the sound of a motorcycle, it could be the view, the sky or just a mood, good one or bad. For a role model I'll pick more than one and I'll explain. The first is Chris Liebing, why? Cause every time I hear his work I can only admire his work. The second one for me will be the Prodigy, for the one reason; they made their own style and made it Big!
Harel: Well I'm getting inspiration from just about everything; I guess I'm like Emmanuel in this part. Listen there are so many great artists that I admire so much but if I'll have to pick some than I'll say it will be something between Crystal Method and Chemical Brothers because they always making something new and awesome! The third one is Ferry Corsten, why? For building a life time factory, he Made his mark on music, I want to make my own as well.
Oren: You work on another project named Engage, "A Beautiful Tomorrow" which already played by the likes of Markus Schulz, Armin van Buuren, can you please share more information about this release?
A: Actually it hasn’t been released yet, and it will take some more time because we've made some changes in the production itself and we're adding a vocal into it so… be prepared for future news :)
Oren: Daniel B - Gods Keyboard caught the attention of many DJs surprisingly Daniel is Emmanuel's brother which also remixes the original track; tell us in a few words about the family business and your passion to music.
A: Emmanuel: Well music is running in our blood for more than 13 years already for me and for Harel it's about 9 years by now. For my brother Daniel music is also the biggest passion and together we're just following our dream, to make music make other people dance, smile and to leave our mark on music that we love so much.
Harel: You know Oren, I know this two crazy brothers for long time and the first thing that any one can notice is that when you enter their house you can hear one rooms music so loud but not more than the other room at the same time! I enjoy working with Emmanuel as his passion for music is as great as mine.
Oren: Both of you are very young what your plans to the future?
A: Emmanuel: I'm planning to continue with the music along with Law School.
Harel: Of course music will continue with me all the way and I'm going to add industrial design as well.
Oren: Anything else you would like to add?
A: We hope people will hear our music and keep on dancing because we're working very hard to make our dream reality.
