The first track from Space Cowboy's new 'Digital Rock' album is released with remixes from Rogerseventytwo, The Young Punx and Santos. Read on to find out more about it..
Parisian born producer Nick Dresti a.k.a Space Cowboy presents his new release on Tiger Trax called 'I Know What Girls Like' with some interesting remixers. Let's check it out!
A1) Space Cowboy- I Know What Girls Like (Rogerseventytwo Dub Mix)
Dutch youngster Roger van der Zwan did some big cutting on the track and the result is a class 'electrohouse' version of ' I Know What Girls Like'. The track starts off with the cutted vocals and soon enough the brutal basslines enter the track. Although the track has a very underground feel by those basslines the vocals make it quite recognisable actually and very suitable for the clubs. Something that also has to be said about the track is that it's quite monotone because of the continiuous same sound. But even by considering it quite monotone after a while I'm sure this track will blow up the dancefloor.
A2) Space Cowboy- I Know What Girls Like (Santos Remix)
Santos made a more rock orientated remix of the track. As the track makes continuous use of electric guitars, live sounding drums and some short vocal lines it gives a good 'rock perspective' to the track. But although the rock sound is done nicely the track itself is quite boring as they are totally no surprises or other elements in the track. In my opinion Santos had to spend just some more time on this remix to bring just some more variation.
B1) Space Cowboy- I Know What Girls Like (The Young Punx Dub Mix)
The Young Punx created a remix which sounds like a real 80's track and they did a good job on that. Retro synths, cool FX and some recognisable riffs give it a real special touch and take you back in time. Maybe it is just not so effective on the dancefloor as Rogerseventytwo's version, but it surely will get the attention. Quality track!
B2) Space Cowboy- I Know What Girls Like (The Young Punx Vocal Mix)
The Young Punx also have a same version of the Dub Mix, but then with the vocals in a scrambled order. With these vocals as an extra element the Vocal Mix just has a little bit extra magic.
Conclusion:
Enough variation on the vinyl, but in Rogerseventytwo's and especially Santos' remix it misses some.. But Rogerseventytwo's dancefloor filling sound saves his mix and also the Young Punx did a great job on the remix. Surely a release to check out.
