RvdB provides the leatest release on Liquid Recordings with a few remixes of Fragma's 'Radio Waves'...
:: Fragma - Radio Waves (RvdB Remixes) :: Liquid Recordings :: LQ062
1) Radio Waves (Ron Van Den Beuken Vocal Mix) Ron van den Beuken provides this remixes of Fragma's 'Radio Waves' kin his own distinct and trademark sound. It doesn't take long for the track to quickly fill up with thick, rolling basses, gritty deep synths and driving snares. There's a nice synthy element behind all of this power though, and the contrasting sounds are very pleasing. The vocal element in this track, before the breakdown, is soft and subtle, and at times it almost seems like a separate synth because it is blended in so much. The breakdown itself is quiet and ambient and is used to put out the main vocal part, sung nice and softly by the familiar voice of Kirsty Hawkshaw. One this is over, the gritty synths grow and kick back in, and we see the track power out towards the end exhibiting pulses of strong, techy synth to keep those energy levels up and the blood pumping on the dancefloor.
2) Radio Waves (Ron Van Den Beuken Dub Mix) The dub mix is practically identical to the vocal mix, although it is a minute longer and it features a few tweaks to some synths and some extra breaks here and there.
Conclusion:
Great remixes! They're tough, pumping, energetic and thick with bass. The vocal mix is nice, and may appeal even to those who don't normally prefer vocal trance, as most of the vocals have an almost synth-like quality. If that's not the case though, then the dub mix is the one for you!!
