From the brand new label Electronic Petz emerges this awesome progressive house track - heavily supported by the likes of Paul van Dyk, Sander Kleinenberg, Hernan Cattaneo, etc.
The Tracklist! Stereonova - Deep Inside (Original Mix) Stereonova - Deep Inside (Funkalogik Mix) Stereonova - Deep Inside (Luna Mood Mix) Stereonova - Dance2080
Stereonova - Deep Inside (Original Mix) - Stunning. It really is. With a lot of really generic music doing the rounds at the moment, it's such a relief to hear such a genuinely unique production. It slowly builds and progresses with a nice and punching kick, and quickly becomes accompanied by a melody that manages to cleverly fade its way in. The build continues to add in different elements to the track - percs, a chilling vocal, continuation of the melody - all leading to the breakdown. And what a breakdown it is. The effect on the melody is awesome, making it drift / swoop in and out, and the accompanying synths that soon appear are just lovely. As the track 'breaks,' there is no over the top, hands in the air, over exaggerated kick in - just a nice subtle 'break' delivered from a great buildup. This is definitely my personal favourite from the EP.
Stereonova - Deep Inside (Funkalogik Mix) - A much darker take on the original. The clue is in the remix title really - more 'funkier' sounding with a heavy dark groove. The synths used are quite 'electro' sounding, and regressively make their way in. The vocal is used in pretty much the same way as the original, and the track itself also follows a similar pattern. Nevertheless, it definitely adds something completely different to the original, unlike a lot of pointless remixes you hear these days. In fact, it almost sounds like a whole new track in itself. The track builds and builds throughout, and it's not until the end where the track is approaching its outro that another array of synths are introduced - very minimal 'electro' sounding - that sit very nicely alongside the driving kick
Stereonova - Deep Inside (Luna Mood Mix) - Quite an interesting remix here. It's kind of an intermediary, in that it sounds a bit of a mix up between the original version and the Funalogik mix. The melody from the original is a lot more recognizable this time round, and used to good effect - but the overall style is still very dark and resemblant of the Funkalogik mix. The vocals also sound a lot more clear, and the overall build of the track is more regressive. As the track kicks in, some very high pitched sounding synths are put to good use. The almost retro sounding riff used in the breakdown is great, and refuses to subside as the track breaks. Again, another remix with a point here, and actually manages to deliver a new take on the original.
Stereonova - Dance2080 - A track with a very electro feel to it. The synths are very unusual sounding, combined with an even stranger sounding stuttering vocal under heavy effects. The bassline is very heavy, and adds to the overall energy of the track. A great Tech-House track here that would definitely work very well on the dance floor.
Conclusion:
The contrast in styles on this release show how versatile Stereonova really are - there is something for everyone, from the beautiful melody of Deep Inside to the dark and electro sounds of Dance2080. This has already hit many of the online digital stores, so be sure to pick up your copy asap!
