Backdraft Remix
It’s August, the rain is currently pouring down but somehow I can’t stop smiling. Why? The reason is good music! Chico Del Mar is giving us a really happy summer-ish house track and the moment I pressed the play button I could feel a warm breeze fill my room. Some people might call this track cheesy but I call it quality. The Original Mix is well balanced with a light and vague vocal line going “Free, free, free your mind…” accompanied with some more highlighted male vocals chanting lines like “Let’s talk about house music – house is not just music, house is a feeling…”. Add a catchy bassline, a mellow bassdrum and a smooth melody then you have one solid house track.
The following Backdraft Remix is a darker and much more electro house production where one has choosed to focus more on the conspicuous chants along with a different pretty monotone melody. This version is allmost nothing like the first one although despite the darker feeling that the song contains it somehow feels uplifting thanks to a couple of warmer glimpses that you from time to time are given along with a looping guitar line that you get a hint of in the background.
Conclusion:
Chico Del Mar has given us a fine piece of house music for these summer days and perfect for the Ibiza clubs! My last call is an 8/10.
