 1) Control Freak (Original Mix)
The Original Mix of 'Control Freak' is a moderately paced, chunky affair which is moved along by deep and rich electro basses, solid kicks and pretty sparse percussion. On the other end of the aural spectrum, extremely clean and clinical sounding synth pads work on a smooth, simple and calming melody. The deep bass loops used here give the track a very deep essence - especially noticeable when the lead melody isn't playing. When it is though, the simplicity behind everything merges into something greater than the sum of its parts to form a track with depth and substance which is nice to listen to.

 2) Control Freak (Sander van Doorn Remix)
A quiet buildup right at the start of the track climaxes to unleash Sander van Doorn's wicked remix. It thunders in with ultimately deep bass and a crisp and innovative percussive element. There's use of a "Control Freak" vocal sample, which is used in short silent breaks, which works very well. The melodic element is still present, but it's very different. The deep and rolling basses are accompanied by short, perky notes played by a much techier sounding synth. It has quite a stark sound and so it draws a lot of attention. This differs a little from Sander's usual style though, as his remixes and tracks are usually driving monsters, but this one sticks to the mood of the Original Mix somewhat and has a deeper edge and feel to the sound.

Conclusion:'Control Freak' is a cool release, with the Original Mix being a rather cool and deep affair, whilst the Sander van Doorn remix is stronger, more powerful but still quite deep and moody take on things.
