Here we see man of the moment Sander van Doorn put out a mix of dark and techy goodness on Maelstrom's digital division. This is 'I-D Digital'...
:: Sander van DOorn - I-D Digital Mix :: Maelstrom Records Digital
Tracklisting 01. Nathan Fake - Outhouse (Umek Remix) 02. Marco V - Arpanet 03. Abel Ramos - Electro Fun 04. Technotronic - Pump Up The Jam (Sander van Doorn Remix) 05. Sander van Doorn - Dark Roast (2006 Re-Fill) 06. Thomas Bronzwaer Pres. Avalon - Circa 07. Substate - Horizon (Mac Zimms Remix) 08. Sander van Doorn - Pumpkin (SVD Remix) 09. Mac & Mac - Listen (Mac Zimms Remix) 10. S.O. Project - Direct Dizko (Sander van Doorn Remix) 11. D.E.E.P.E.R. - Abstraction 12. Mary Go W!ld! (Ron van den Beuken Remix) 13. Sander van Doorn - Punk'd (Sean Tyas Remix)
That's one pretty damn appealing tracklist right there. Aside from the quality of the tracks, another thing a lot of you will probably notice is the fact that about 75% of them hail from the almighty dutch label, Spinnin' Records. As you'd expect from Sander, and as the tracklist clearly demonstrates, this mix is one total tech-fest. It's actually one of the first compilations I've seen which has been totally and truly dedicated to quality tech trance, so more of this, please!
Anyway, the mix kicks off in a fairly laid back style with tracks from heavyweight Marco V and techno monster Nathan Fake. The sound is lazy but fluid and is a good start to warm up for what's to come later. More upbeat tribal flavours come though thanks to 'Electro Fun' then things begin to spice up with deep, dark techy rhythms coming from SvD's remix of dance classic 'Pump Up The Jam'. The quality just goes on and on from here, sampling the best sounds from top notch and well established artists such as Mac Zimms, Thomas Bronzwaer, Ron van den beuken and of course, Sander van Doorn himself. The end of the mix really steps things up with the totally and utterly awesome (did I say *awesome*?) SvD Remix of 'Direct Dizko', 'Mary Go W!ld!' and Sean Tyas' new stomping remix of 'Punk'd'.
The final point to make is about the mixing - it's spot on, there's nothing more to say there. Sander has proved himself in the studio, now he's taking on the world behind a set of decks. Watch out!
Conclusion:
Wicked mix. Top tunes and top mixing make this a real DJ's compilation. I've thoroughly enjoyed this one. This mix is available exclusively through iTunes only, so get yourselves there if you want a copy!
