Delano & Crockett are known for their catchy electrohousy tracks. With 'Walking On The Moon' on the fresh Fudge label they aim for another hit.
Delano & Crockett's 'Walking On The Moon' is a cover of Sting & The Police's 'Walking On The Moon'. Hi_Tack is filling the A-side with their remix and Delano & Crockett did 2 mixes for on the flip.
A1) Delano & Crockett - Walking On The Moon (Hi_Tack Remix)
You could say Hi_Tack is a specialist in changing classic pop tracks into new stormers for the clubs. The track opens with nice firm beats and some teasing short cuts of Sting's vocals. A break follows fast with whole pieces of Sting's original vocals and builds up to the climax where a catchy bassline meets up with some driving synths. The same break situation follows again after a short time and after that the track is already building off. Hi_Tack's production is very nice and tight, but the track itself is not all too spectacular with it's repeating sounds. But especially because of the recognisable vocals of Sting and Hi_Tacks succesful sound it's surely a handy DJ tool.
B1) Delano & Crockett - Walking On The Moon (Grand Club Mix)
Delano & Crockett's own mix starts with some more funky percussion and short takes of a guitar and Sting's voice. Also here the break starts fast with Sting's original vocals, supported by a slow playing piano. Then when the climax reaches a very funky piano is being introduced. This combined with the very creative use of the Sting vocal parts and cool FX I'm sure this will have a great impact on the dancefloor.
B2) Delano & Crockett - Walking On The Moon (Grand Club Dub)
You might think that with a lot less of Sting's vocals the track wouldn't be just as impressive by the original remix, but that's certainly not true in this case. The dub version is a very dynamic track where very much little details bring the track to 1 big funky stormer. Delano & Crockett surely did a good job on this one.
Conclusion:
Well yes, the dance market gets overloaded by remakes of classic tracks and it's of course not the first time Sting gets this treatment, but I surely recommend the houselovers to check this release, especially the Grand Club mixes. These Grand Club mixes just have enough ingredients to rock some dancefloors badly. Together with Hi_Tack's take on the A-side it just can't go wrong with this one.
