Dancemusic heavyweight and veteran JFK is here to provide the debut release on Trance Revolution Recordings' new digital sub-label, TRR Digital. Genix is on hand to provide a remix...
:: JFK - Devil's Music :: TRR Digital :: TRRD001
1) Devil's Music (JFK's Dirty Original Mix) This release cetainly kicks off in a different direction to the TRR that we're used to. This one lives up to it's name from the first beat with deep, dark and dirty beats backed with a sinister and ominous bassline. A lick of synth and sfx in the background adds a bit of tension to the progressing buildup of the initial stages of the track. The breakdown sees no relent of the dark and dangerous tone as a coarse electric guitar rips out some chords, before you're returned to the rolling, relentless drive of the dark, filthy beats. This track is quite simplistic in some ways, but in this it relies on the raw power of it's fundamental elements. You know what, it works. The result is a unique sounding and driving piece of tech trance.
2) Devil's Music (Genix Remix) You can just about feel the old bassy essence of JFK's original in Genix's remix, but for the most part, it is of a different, more standard flavour. It's half-techy progressive trance really, with nothing jumping out to grab your attention. It really just serves as a softer alternative to the dark and demanding original. There is an amazingly immense build up in the breakdown just before the track drops back in though which features an awesome, insanely epic combination of pads which, for some bizarre reason just dies away. If this was included after the drop then it would've been excellent.
Conclusion:
Definitely check out the original in this release. It grew on me a lot and now I've really taken to it's dark and filthy nature with that raw, guitar part.
