The third release on this up and coming trance label is a brand new production by German hotshot André Visior, known from 'Don't Go' and 'Speed Up'. Remixes come from the hands of the talented Funabashi and Arizona (aka Thomas Bronzwaer), so it looks like we're in for a treat here!
Breeze, set up by Christian Stein, Tino Hufeld and Matthias Max, had its first two releases last year with the tunes Visior & Darkmoon - 'Hidden Sun' and the massive 'Alone' by Kay Stone. After a year-long break, they're back now with their third installment...
Original Mix Combining a swift, nifty drive with a slighly nasty, grunting bassline, this tune sets out what it has to offer all the way through. A kind of techy, raw feel is being ignited throughout a bit of the build, typified by using wicked synth patches, well crafted melodic sceneries and arrays of quite mysterious vocal stabs. One of the main big things about this track is its ability to create contrasts: (mostly) unlike the build, the breakdown encompasses a very coasily brought melody, brought forward using this slick guitar. Quite the sunny, trancy feel shines through here... but don't be mislead by this, 'cause soon a raw, metallic sound stabs you right in the face, creating quite the fierce climax. Hints of the tune's multiple melodies are still evident near the back, altogether making this a nice tune for the floors with its slightly deep trancy kick-in and cool discrepancies.
Funabashi Remix This is actually a more slow yet thumpy, thick remix, leaning more towards the what some call 'proggy' trance nowadays. Phat basslines take up a greatly imposing portion of energy, guided along by utterly crisp percussion and constant hints to that relaxing guitar melo. It's really cool how this remix combines everything to combine a very meaningful whole: even the stabbing 'metallic' sound from the original returns, but this time it gets the deeper treatment combined with that funky bassline, a superb new rapid melody and an overall very shiny, polished structure. This remix takes the original to another level, and that's exactly what remixes are for aren't they?
Arizona Remix And now for the full-on elevating experience. Mister Bronzwaer has been taking the trance scene by storm lately, creating cracking tunes like 'Close Horizon' and 'Shadow World'. He's remade 'Skyline' into his typical style, which is loaded with dense percs, speedy synths and a great ability to lift you up in no time. The guitar part has been left out totally, instead making room for a smooth synth ride. He's also implemented a brand new main riff, which doesn't really remind me of anything from the original, but it works so why bother. The downside here is that the whole thing is rather straightforward at times, but fans of this kind of trance will certainly be able to enjoy Thomas' remix.
Conclusion:
We've got ourvelses a diverse release here. The original leans nicely on its contrasts and techy vibe, Funabashi have delivered a deeper cut, and Arizona brings a complete trance interpretation to finish things off. Another nice release on Breeze which will definitely make its way into a good amount of playlists, if it hasn't already.
