Changes are afoot at the BBC and Radio One has introduced a selection of new dance music shows for the winter season whilst saying goodbye to a few familiar residents.
Over the last week they have made a few changes to their schedule with a few very tasty new shows well worth tuning into where ever you are in the world. First of all it's sad to see Fergie, who used to broadcast a two hour show every Saturday night, leave Radio One. His show used to showcase all what was good in the world of techno.
The New Shows
Never fear though because the new dance shows cirtainly make up for the departure of Irelands most vocal DJ's. Happy Days are over and its time to Fire it Up as Eddie Halliwell, who did broadcast occasionally on the now extinct Residency show, now has his own two hour dance show every thursday. It's sure to be a showcase of very hard and pounding dance music across techno, house and trance and one to tune into if your a fan of his energetic style.
The Essential Selection which has been broadcast for three jammed packed hours every Friday for as long as I can remember has been skimmed down to two hours from one of the kings of the Dance scene Pete Tong. It's by no means a step backwards as the show is still packed with top natter from Pete and friends as well as being jammed packed with quality dance music.
What will interest Tong fans is his new one hour show on Thursday’s showcasing the best new dance music around. The new 'In New Music We Trust' show will feature the best new dance music Pete can drag from his record box as well as being a showcase for new stars in the dance scene.
Judge Jules and Dave Pearce's popular Saturday night warm up and dance anthems shows remain on their current times. The Essential mix has moved to 2AM until 4AM which is where it used to air not so long ago. The full Radio one dance schedule can be found on the Radio One dance pages.
