Global Breakthrough
17th Feb to 3rd March 2007
Cape Town's First Ever Two-Week Clubbing Escapade!
Top international DJs - exotic locations

LoveCapeTown.com and Trust the DJ launched Global Breakthrough, the first-ever club tour to Cape Town in March 2006. After a triumphant inaugural tour, record label pioneers confirmed on the two week clubbing escapade include Renaissance, Global Underground, Toolroom, Azuli and Defected. Pushca, the true originators of 'glam house' will also be strutting their stuff and hosting a one off ultra exotic event. They will be joined by The Diamond Club, infamous for their secret villa parties in Ibiza and PUSH, from the creators that brought London the massive South West Four festival, will also all be out in full force.

Week One will see the best of house, electro and progressive take to the decks easing into the more underground minimal and deep tech house vibe in Week Two. Take advantage of that favourable exchange rate and join the international star DJs as they discover shark diving, sandboarding, take a Huey helicopter trip down the coast and come to realise why Cape Town really is the Mother of all cities!

THE SCHEDULE:
With more rooms/DJs/brands to be announced closer to the event, here's a taster:

Sat 17th Feb - Opening Party: Global Underground feat Lee Burrudge & Tall Paul in Room 1 whilst Sir Norman Jay (Good Times) hosts Room 2.
Sun 18th Feb – Defected feat DJ Spen and Dino Moran
Wed 21st Feb – Puscha feat DJs TBC and Room 2 hosted by Cass (of ‘And Mangan’ fame)
Fri 23rd Feb – Renaissance feat James Zabiela
Sat 24th Feb – Toolroom Records feat. Mark Knight and Pete Griffiths, Room 2 hosted by PUSH
Wed 28th Feb – Azuli feat Ame and Special guest TBA
Fri 2nd March – Steve Bug, Shane Watcha and special guest TBA
Sat 3rd March – Closing Party: The Diamond Club with special guest Clive Henry

Kicking off the tour with the mother of all opening parties see Global Underground unleash progressive house favourite Lee Burridge alongside Gallery resident Tall Paul joined by Notting Hill Carnival King Sir Norman Jay (Good Times). The next day sees Defected Records host a killer party with DJ Spen and Dino Moran, whilst the king (and queens!) of Glam Puscha bring their own unique brand of dressed-up funk to the tour. Friday 23rd sees James Zabiela, a protégé of superstar DJ Sasha who has become a prominent figure in the world’s top 20 DJs make his South Africa debut headlining the massive Renaissance event.

The second week features house giants Toolroom Records and Azuli Records showcase why they are two of the leading labels in the world with Toolroom featuring label boss Mark Knight alongside Pete Griffiths and Azuli featuring DJ Âme, the deadly duo responsible for ‘Rej’, one of the most played tunes of the summer on all the hottest dance floors worldwide.

Bringing the weekend to a close Poker Flat boss and minimal connoisseur Steve Bug will be gracing the decks at a luxurious private beach party in Cape Town. Keeping with the creed of Global Breakthrough that music is for the people, he will then go to play to a crowd of thousands in Soweto’s township. Another proud first for South Africa! Whilst the infamous Diamond Club from Ibiza host the spectacular closing party featuring Circo Loco DC10 resident Clive Henry. Look out for a very special surprise guest joining the line up for the last weekend!

Other DJs that make up this explosive line up include Cass (One half of production duo Cass & Mangan), Jonty Skrufff and Shane Watcha.
